I enjoy encountering art from the pre-Columbian peoples of the Pacific Northwest. Their unique style has fused with other styles in west coast art and architecture. Totems and posts in particular are a key element in their designs.
The following image show a pavilion where indigenous artists carve totems and others work of art particular to their culture. It's really neat seeing the raw process of taking the large cedar logs and transforming them into intricately carved pieces that tell stories encompassing personal, social, and cultural beliefs as well as practices.
Details on the pavilion are shown in small signs hanging from the mesh wall.
Information on the "house post" depicting the pair of salmon was presented on this other sign. The post is one of two created by Squamish Nation artist Rick Harry.
While the totem was not ebony like the Syd Barret sang, right across the city, I found another great piece in the form of an ebony canoe. Canoes were traditionally made of cedar and hence the moniker People of the Cedar. I was maneuvering through the soccer-mad crowds at that moment, so I didn't get a chance to take a closer look.
Prior to the arrival of Europeans, the locals used tools made of stone, bones, shells, and other materials to design and develop their wood work.
There are several groups that are considered First Nations and include the ones mentioned in the following image that I took at the FIFA Fan Fest on the grounds of the Pacific National Exhibition.
Squamish, Musqueam Indian Band, and Tsleil-Waututh

Hello everyone I hope you are all good and well today in this post is some of the evidence to prove my case
If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
So I've dealt with people like this before it's nothing new
But what they are doing is bad Very badi joined steemit like everyone else thinking it offers freedom but I must say steemit offered much more freedom than Hive does
