[ESP-ING] Two cultures intertwined

Algo que me gusta mucho de mi país Venezuela es que hemos dado alojamiento y oportunidades de vida muchas personas extranjeras que al final se convierten en Venezolanos y esto es un caso de la Colonia Tovar, llegaron aquí huyendo de un problema en su país y decidieron quedarse desde 1843 y actualmente siguen aquí, una de las cosas que me han llamado la atención es que estas personas son muy selectivas, no ligan su raza con todo el mundo.

En conversación con personas del pueblo me dijeron que antes era más estricto, si ellos querían casarse con una venezolana o venezolano los deseredaban, hoy en día no es tan estricto ya que ahora si hay mestizos de la liga de estos dos países, nosotros nunca hemos tenido esas diferencias entre países pero muchos extranjeros si, cosas de su cultura.

Al ver estas banderas ondeando en suelo Venezolano, no puedo pensar en divisones sino en que hemos crecido y ellos han adoptado parte de nosotros y nosotros hemos aprendido costumbres de ellos, si puedo decir que son personas muy trabajadoras y creativas, mantienen el pueblo en condiciones optimas y hermosas para el turismo y cada día inventan cosas nuevas, un pueblo que se niega a morir y que mantiene su cultura en alto.

Ellos llegaron a esas montañas y se quedaron con un clima espectacular que tiene el estado Aragua, para mi el mejor clima, ya que en la zona baja hace mucho calor, son bendecidos, además aprovecharon la siembra y de aquí salen los mejores cultivos y frutas del estado, sobre todo las fresas, duraznos, hortalizas entre otras frutas que nunca había visto, pero si de frutas raras quieren aprender allí de seguro las podrán encontrar.

Something I really like about my country, Venezuela, is that we have given shelter and opportunities to many foreigners who eventually become Venezuelans. This is the case of Colonia Tovar. They came here fleeing problems in their country and decided to stay since 1843, and they are still here today. One of the things that has struck me is that these people are very selective; they do not mix with everyone.

In conversation with people from the village, they told me that it used to be stricter. If they wanted to marry a Venezuelan, they would be disinherited. Today, it is not so strict, as there are now mixed-race people from both countries. We have never had these differences between countries, but many foreigners do, due to their culture.

When I see these flags flying on Venezuelan soil, I cannot think of divisions, but rather that we have grown and they have adopted part of us and we have learned customs from them. I can say that they are very hard-working and creative people, they keep the town in optimal and beautiful conditions for tourism and every day they invent new things, a town that refuses to die and keeps its culture alive.

They came to these mountains and stayed because of the spectacular climate in Aragua state, which for me is the best climate, since it is very hot in the lowlands. They are blessed, and they also took advantage of the land for planting, and from here come the best crops and fruits in the state, especially strawberries, peaches, vegetables, and other fruits I had never seen before. But if you want to learn about rare fruits, you will surely find them there.
