Hola querido hiver.

He empezado a preparar la maleta para los Hive Open Days, que se celebran en Alicante los próximos cuatro días. Antes de depositar dentro las cosas habituales cuando te vas de viaje, me ha dado por pensar en lo que llevo en otra maleta, la que no se llena de objetos sino de emociones.

Empezamos a trabajar en este evento el pasado mes de octubre. Cuando se confirmó que el siguiente Hive Creators Days, ahora rebautizado en Hive Open Days, tendría como sede la ciudad española de Alicante empecé a soñar con este momento. Me emociona conocer en persona a usuarios de Hive con los que me relaciono a menudo desde la distancia. Además, no solo romperemos la barrera del espacio, ¡sino también la del idioma! Estoy deseando probar la herramienta mágica que nos permitirá derribar la Torre de Babel.

Tener tan cerca el momento en el que has invertido horas de trabajo provoca una mezcla de nerviosismo y sensación de vacío. Como es lógico, una quiere que todo salga bien, que los asistentes disfruten y se vayan satisfechos con la experiencia. Pero no depende todo de uno y tendremos que estar preparados para adaptarnos ante cualquier eventualidad que pueda surgir.

Sin embargo, lo más importante que me llevo en la maleta son las ganas de relajarme y disfrutar de la buena compañía, parte ya conocida y otra buena parte por conocer. También tengo muchas ganas de ver de nuevo el mar, escuchar las olas en la playa y contemplar ese horizonte infinito que me recarga la energía.

Mi intención es compartir cada día al menos un pequeño resumen de lo que vaya sucediendo, aunque no puedo prometer nada porque si me sumerjo por completo en el evento sé que me olvidaré de todo lo demás, jeje. De todos modos, lo que haré seguro será tomar muchas, muchas fotos que terminaré publicando en el blog, así que aunque sea más tarde seguiré escribiendo sobre estos días.

Hi, dear hiver.

I’ve started packing my suitcase for the Hive Open Days, which are taking place in Alicante over the next four days. Before I start putting in the usual things you take when you go on a trip, I’ve found myself thinking about what I carry in another suitcase – the one that isn’t filled with objects, but with emotions.

We started working on this event last October. When it was confirmed that the next Hive Creators Days, now renamed Hive Open Days, would be held in the Spanish city of Alicante, I began to dream of this moment. I’m excited to meet Hive users in person whom I often interact with from afar. What’s more, we’ll be breaking down not just the barrier of space, but also that of language! I can’t wait to try out the magic tool that will allow us to tear down the Tower of Babel.

Having the moment you’ve invested hours of work into so close at hand brings a mixture of nervousness and a sense of emptiness. Naturally, you want everything to go well, for attendees to enjoy themselves and leave satisfied with the experience. But it’s not all down to you, and we’ll have to be prepared to adapt to any eventuality that may arise.

However, the most important thing I’m packing is the desire to relax and enjoy good company—some of whom I already know, and others I’m yet to meet. I’m also really looking forward to seeing the sea again, listening to the waves on the beach and gazing at that endless horizon that recharges my energy.

My intention is to share at least a short summary of what’s happening each day, though I can’t promise anything because if I get completely immersed in the event, I know I’ll forget about everything else, hehe. In any case, what I’ll definitely do is take lots and lots of photos that I’ll end up posting on the blog, so even if it’s a bit later, I’ll keep writing about these days.
