Everything that has a beginning also has an end. I heard somewhere that finishing something is better than just starting it. And, come to think of it, that makes a lot of sense. When we start building a house, for example, the most important thing isn’t just taking the first step, but seeing it all finished in the end. The same goes for a course, a project, or any goal in life: finishing is usually more rewarding than just starting.

So, at the end of yet another trip, we were happy that everything went well and that we made the most of everything within our reach. On the way back, we stopped at a cultural market, where we bought several things for ourselves and also some souvenirs for loved ones, as a way to keep a little piece of this wonderful trip. My wife bought some tapioca gummy cookies, because she loves those things. So, the trip back was smooth and fun, and we enjoyed the ride while munching on those little balls.

The return trip from Maceió to home was very peaceful. I hope to take more trips to places like this, where we’re warmly welcomed and can enjoy everything nature has to offer.

Tudo que tem um início também tem um fim. Em algum lugar ouvi dizer que melhor que começar algo é conseguir concluí-lo. E, pensando bem, isso faz bastante sentido. Quando iniciamos a construção de uma casa, por exemplo, o mais importante não é apenas dar o primeiro passo, mas ver tudo pronto no final. O mesmo vale para um curso, um projeto ou qualquer objetivo da vida: terminar costuma ser mais gratificante do que apenas começar.

Assim, ao final de mais uma viagem, ficamos felizes por tudo ter dado certo e por termos aproveitado ao máximo tudo o que estava ao nosso alcance. Na volta, passamos em um mercado cultural, onde compramos várias coisas para nós mesmos e também algumas lembranças para pessoas próximas, como forma de guardar um pouco dessa viagem maravilhosa. Minha esposa comprou umas bolachas de goma de tapioca, porque ela ama essas coisas. Então, a viagem de volta foi tranquila e divertida, aproveitando o trajeto enquanto comíamos essas bolinhas.

O retorno de Maceió para casa foi bem calmo. Espero fazer mais viagens para lugares assim, onde somos bem recebidos e podemos aproveitar tudo o que a natureza nos proporciona.
