ITALY

I spent three unforgettable days in Italy, starting in Milan exploring the Duomo, Galleria, castle, and canals. I then escaped to Lake Como, wandering through Varenna and Bellagio, enjoying serene waters and mountain views. I ended the trip in Bergamo, strolling Città Alta, tasting local pastries, and reflecting quietly before heading home after a fast paced but deeply rewarding journey.

MALTA

Three amazing days in Malta at my own pace. I walked through Valletta’s historic streets, relaxed by the sea in Sliema, and enjoyed the colours of Marsaxlokk. I visited Popeye Village, explored the Three Cities, and soaked up the island’s mix of history, sunshine, and calm moments before the trip quietly came to an end.

ICARIA

You’ve probably heard the usual stuff. “It’s where Greeks live the longest.” “One of the Blue Zones.” All that National Geographic talk. I thought it was exaggeration, but honestly, they’re not wrong. People there just don’t care about time the way we do. I’m not even sure their clocks work properly.

From the minute I landed, it was obvious this wasn’t your typical island. No resorts, no loud beach bars, no influencers doing TikToks by the sea. Just normal people doing their own thing, slowly. Very slowly.
MOUNT ATHOS(AGIO OROS)
Even though I’m not religious, I respect Greece’s heritage, and religion is a big part of that. That’s why I decided to visit Mount Athos, or Agio Oros—the most sacred place in Greece, home to centuries-old monasteries that represent the Orthodox Church. It’s a place unlike any other, where daily life is dictated by faith, tradition, and a complete separation from the modern world.

UPPER MILIA VILLAGE

The village itself is small, with only about 50 residents, so there’s just one tavern. But let me tell you, the tavern was excellent! When I heard about the dishes they offered, I was filled with joy. It had been a long time since I’d had the chance to enjoy proper, traditionally cooked food.

MOUNTAINS OF GRAMMOS

Grammos has always had a tougher personality. It’s not the mountain where you snap a few photos and then go for a warm drink. It’s a place with history carved into it. From the battles of the Greek Civil War to the deep isolation that shaped whoever lived or fought there. Walking and riding through that snow, I kept thinking how this mountain doesn’t forgive easily. But it gives back something honest.

Amazing post! This travel recap is an invitation to travel with attentive eyes, not only to see famous monuments, but to immerse yourself in local cultures and the sensations these places offer. Italy is full of such places. !BBH
