My last post around the TRAVALA project and its token #AVA was around Oct 29, 2025 Travala - Celebrate 8 Years of Crypto Travel - How to Add Web3 Wallet in Travala Web App... Yeah its been a very long time and to be honest I had lost interest in the project and had decided to remain invested and do nothing with the #AVA tokens that I was holding in the TRAVALA Platform. Until this news recently broke from the TRAVALA team around - Defending Our Community & Safeguarding User Assets and I receving a mail with Subject line - Important Notice from the Travala.com email address. The mail stated that we are writing to inform you that basic, text-based profile information linked to your account was affected as part of a recent security incident. And now I after reading this mail I thought that all my funds are gone but then when I logged into my TRAVALA account and checked my wallet my funds were there and here is the image of my wallet holding 1K #AVA tokens which is worth $154+ dollars at the moment....

The sad part is that this investment was around $375+ back then in 2025, and now see what is left more than 70% has been eroded away. It is a big drop from where I started, and this is exactly what makes me think twice about whether I should continue holding #AVA or move this investment into some other project. So now what NeXt? Do I remain invested OR should I sell my #AVA tokens and invest in some other project like #HIVE or #CAKE? I am still thinking around different options and trying to understand what would make more sense for me going forward.

At present #AVA token is trading around $0.15 cents its down 9% in last 7 days and the max price that we have seen for the token is $6+ I would like to wait a bit more and if in the near term the crypto bull kicks IN and the #AVA reaches $1+ mark then definately I would exit and invest in some other emerging project. But for now, its #hodl, wait and watch kind of a scenario. I don't want to take any decision in a hurry, so I will keep watching how things develop and decide my next move accordingly. I have a pretty big investment in AVA too. The only thing I didn't get was one of those Tiger NFTs. I just couldn't afford it at the time. I really had high hopes for Travala. They had a good model and it looked like they were poised to be a leader in this market, but it's been pretty disappointing so far.

I thought about investing but never did, all our crypto investments are anyways red :) Hopefully 2027 will bring some good news - only hope remains.....

I was not aware that Travala had their own token but thats pretty cool. Sounds to me like the price performance is just following the rest of the market even though they have a pretty useful utility token. In times like these utility tokens are often the first ones to bleed out because they have such niche and small use cases. Generally I believe most cryptos will be doomed to stagnate and die a slow and painful demise. The winners will not be old cycle tokens, they will be next generation L1 and L2 tokens which allow users to see price discovery and user expansion over older tokens which suffer many tokenomic follies.

I actually booked my first trip last Summer with Travala (using AVA tokens) and only have a good experience with them. It's just so convenient to book and pay with crypto.

I also like the fact that their token has actual utility attached to it but at the same time it's a bit contradictary. If price is low it's cheap to get the Diamond Membership and it gives good incentives for new customers to come in but at the same time investors are screwed. If token values are high, it's a bad deal to buy and get a membership tier but investors are happy. If anything they should cut the link between token value and the memberships and price it in a certain $$ value of the token that needs to be locked to get the benefits.

So it's a bit a double edged sword, I like the project, it has been around for a long time and still operating making profit and bringing updates. But at the same time the token doesn't seem to really be a priority. Also they were put on a list of possible delising on Binance but it's not sure yet what will happen. That might explain the current low prices. I just regularly put some funds in AVA and use it whenever I book a flight or a hotel room in the hope it goes up at some point giving me a bigger overall budget.

I also got the email about the hack but funds are still in my account there, I do feel like I started to get way more spam mail after though.

I sold mine as I saw no benefit as all the flights, hotels etc I could find cheaper elsewhere and their prices are actually expensive so would never use them.

I still hold and take advantage of the platform, I've booked a hotel through them in my last vacations since it was cheaper than in the usual sites. And you get cashback in AVA tokens so it's a win-win!
