A day with my wife : visiting the temples of the Tai Yai people (an ethnic group in Thailand), Walking around and shopping at outdoor market, supermarket and local shop in small community, Our simple food, And views from the trip.

Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. Today my wife and I planned to visit a district near our district. It was a simple trip from morning to afternoon, after we took our granddaughter and autistic son to school. We have about 6 hours of free time for this trip. This time we went to Mae Ai District. There are temples of the Tai Yai people (an ethnic group living in Thailand). We therefore wanted to visit these temples. The atmosphere of our journey this morning. We were traveling on the main road (Highway 107). The sky was clear in our district. But when we reached Mae Ai district, there was fog on the main road.

Before reaching the temple, we saw an outdoor market, so we stopped this market first. We hadn't eat breakfast yet this morning, so we bought the simple breakfast to eat in the car. We ate breakfast in the car first, then walked to the market again after breakfast. It's a large outdoor market. We spent almost an hour walking around here.

We traveled on the main road again to the temples. We traveled on the main road again, then on the rural roads to the temples. We traveled through villages and farms. It's a local Thai village. And the farms of the villagers are rice fields. Some of the journey are on the rural roads.

When we arrived at a temple of the Tai Yai people, This temple is called Wat Santi Wanaram. Wat Santi Wanaram is a small temple. This temple have entrance arch, temple signs and buddha image hall (viharn), These are built in a unique Tai Yai art style. Different from Thai temples. But the pagoda was built in the style of northern Thai art.

The second temple we visited in Mae Ai district was called Wat Chiang Phaya. Wat Chiang Phaya is a temple of the Tai Yai people too. But this temple is a large temple. The architecture and sculptures in the temple are white mix gold color and brown. These are built in a unique Tai Yai art style and different from Thai temples too.

Our lunch today. We stopped at a mini restaurant with Thai food cooked to order. I eat stir-fried crispy pork with basil and my wife eat noodles in pink soup.

We stopped by Lotus for shopping today too. This weekend, the children don't go to school on Friday too. So we bought snacks, milk, sweets, fruits and ingredients for this weekend.

But oranges in supermarkets are more expensive than local shops. So we stopped to buy oranges at a local shop in small community before picking up our autistic son from school and go home.
