Happy Thursday Hivers!
Back in my high school days, I was extremely shy. I didnāt really interact much with my classmates, and I rarely joined school activities unless they were mandatory. It was quite different from when I was in elementary school, when I was very outgoing, playful, and talkative.
During high school, though, I actually enjoyed spending time by myself, especially reading books. I found that I was more comfortable and could enjoy myself more when I was alone rather than when I had someone with me. Whenever I was with someone, I would feel pressured to think about what we should talk about, especially when I wasnāt completely comfortable around that person.
When we were younger, we didnāt really understand what was happening or why our behavior could change so much. I couldnāt explain why I became so different from the way I was in elementary school. But the truth was, I genuinely enjoyed being on my own.
There were times when I even asked myself, āIs it normal to enjoy being alone?ā When weāre young, we donāt always realize that itās perfectly okay to spend time by ourselves. We donāt always need to have someone with us to enjoy our time.

We often look at our friends and see them surrounded by so many people, and we naturally think that having lots of friends is how weāre supposed to be. But as I grew older, I realized that everyone has a different way of enjoying life. For some people, being surrounded by others brings happiness, while for others, there is something comforting and fulfilling about simply enjoying their own company.
As I got older, I became more certain about what I really enjoy. I actually love traveling alone because I get to decide where I want to go, create my own itinerary, and make my own plans without having to consider someone elseās preferences. Most of all, I can eat wherever I want without having to ask if my companion likes the food or not.
But honestly, there are also times when I wish I had a friend or family member with me. There are moments when I get excited about something I see while traveling, and I want to share that excitement, my thoughts, and everything Iām experiencing with someone. But since Iām traveling alone, I end up keeping those thoughts to myself and having the whole conversation in my head.
Traveling with companions is also great, and sometimes it can be even more fun. But we canāt deny that there are times when people donāt agree on what they want to do, where they want to go, or what they want to eat. I guess thatās one of the things Iāve learned to avoid by traveling solo.
Maybe I travel alone most of the time because Iāve simply gotten used to going places by myself. But if Iām traveling with people Iām really close to, I also enjoy it a lot. I especially love traveling with a group of people who are easy to get along with, who are comfortable with each other, and who can agree on most things.
So, how about you? Which do you prefer when traveling going solo or traveling with companions?
Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!

Namaste! I am fond of reading books, watching korean, american and filipino series/movies and I am also fond of gardening. I love listening to different life stories and I am always captivated with the beauty of nature so travel is my escape when life turns into blue. But hey, how could I forget my photography hobby? It is one of the best, so follow me as I will be featuring my experiences of the stuff that I am passionate with.
There are lot of changes happens every day Sis @kellyane , and those childhood days is a part of our wonderful memories in life. š
That's true Sis š
Like you, I remember being very shy in my school days (probably I'm still like that)... I did have a few good friends, but most of the time, I was reading books, watching TV, or, later on, researching on the Internet... In those days, I didn't like traveling as I had motion sickness, which lasted until my 18s, when it got a bit better...
Maybe because of all that, nowadays, I do like travelling a lot, and despite being an introvert, I like to meet and explore new places with friends... That's probably one of the reasons why I attended many Hive meetups...
I did travel alone a few times, but I like to do it in a company more...

Itās great that you join your friends in exploring new places. As long as you can agree on most things and understand each otherās preferences, traveling with friends can be such a wonderful experience.
Thatās also how we ended up on the Hive platform, we share some similarities and have common interests. Thatās why Hive meetups are such a great idea because it gives us the chance to meet and connect with like-minded people.
By the way, thank you for your support.
