RE: 2026 sees major changes to Thailand visa rules
Hopefully, these changes are truly for the benefit of the country and not driven by any hidden agenda. Perhaps they're also trying to manage the number of tourists for environmental reasons. Hmm... that's just my opinion.

I think that it is to benefit large hotels and doesn't factor in the regular person who benefits by increased tourism numbers. The government doesn't care about the small businesses because they don't pay much in taxes. They also have no lobbying power to convince politicians to have mercy on them.
