try try again... right? If it can't grow in a pot I can't even try it here. If I put them on the unused plot of land opposite my apartment building someone would just steal it. Chilis can be grown in pots but I honestly don't have much use for them and since I can buy like a kilo of them at the market for almost no money, it would be a waste of my time.

Yes that is true, there will somebody who will steal it specially if they sees lots of chillis in your future garden. I also experienced that here also.
