two tourists on rental scooters arrived at the airport, one of them didn't even have a shirt on, and then proceeded to go park the bikes at a part of the airport where no one is allowed to park at all, get their belongings off the bikes and then just leave the bikes there.
There are cameras everywhere, so it's pretty easy to identify everyone and track them down, unless they don't want to.
To me, I think that all of these sorts of things should be handled on a case-by-case basis and not make some sort of broad changes that are going to hurt everyone just because of a few jerks.
I agree with you on that. No reason to take it out on everyone, just punish those responsible.
unfortunately the government sees things like this as an opportunity to get a soapbox and get elected so if they can create an outside enemy they can get support. Nothing quite like a shared affront to bring people together. But in the case of Thailand they desperately NEED the tourism money to support their economy so they are in a lose/lose situation.
I have checked and turns out tourism is the second largest income source in Thailand, so they are stupid to do this, but hey, no one can save you from yourself, as they say.
