I think the zipper merge is a perfect example of this. If done properly, it is so efficient, but people don't like the idea of someone racing ahead of them and all of that. Especially with the increase in road rage incidents lately, we really need to take human emotion out of the equation. If I had all the money in the world I would hire a driver and let them deal with it.
I recall hearing about the zipper merge. Impossible to enforce and there are too many people out there that believe that anyone getting in front of them is a horrible offense and is insulting. There are also people who will utilize this opportunity to cut way to the front of the "line" so to speak. I'm really happy I don't have to operate a car anymore... I recall it being a near endless source of frustration .
