Hola, hola, Comunidad de emprendedores y gente llena de sueños. Es la segunda vez que me llego a este grupo "Be Entrepreneur" #hive-140971. Hoy, con la humildad de quien se sabe cualquier cosa menos emprendedor nato, me acerco para contarles sobre la única empresa de la que puedo decir, gracias a Dios, que poseo realmente.

Porque la verdad que si les hablo de los otros tantos emprendimientos que he intentado y que no pasan de la fase iniciativa, o, a lo sumo, de la media. Ah, y eso sí, jamás ofreciéndome ganancias reales. (Pérdidas sí, en eso soy experto).

Siempre he sido malo para los negocios. Incluso, cuando los he fabricado yo mismo, como mis incursiones en las Artes Plásticas y la Artesanía, donde vendí a mitad de precio mis trabajos; y terminé regalando muchos.

Sobre el Teatro no puedo quejarme: el Centro de Teatro me paga un mega-salario de 2200 pesos al mes. (Hablo de Cuba, 2025, 2026, cuando solo necesitas unos 30.000 pesos para comer arroz decente).

Mochilero de cuerpo y alma

Cuando pienso en mis ganas perennes de movimiento, creo que debió ser muy fácil para mi mamá parirme. Jajaja. Porque desde que tengo posibilidad de recordar, siempre me ha encantado moverme de un sitio a otro.

Como puedes ver, a este post le he titulado de esta manera porque no puede ser de otra. Mi Blog de Viajes es el único emprendimiento que he podido realizar -a duras penas-, y que ha tenido cierto éxito.

Vaya, a éxito llamémosle, primero: la proeza cubana, casi milagrosa, de poder tenerlo. Luego, publicar en él de forma casi regular y, por último, otro de los milagros que Dios me ha dado: poder mantenerlo.

Vaya, que si continúo hablando de lo místico del asunto, tendré que publicar esta entrada en Los Milagros de Domingo, que @neuropoeta lleva en la Comunidad Green Zone (#hive-164923)

Emprendimiento, ¿o no?

En asuntos de sueños, anhelos y añoranzas si que tengo un baúl lleno que me acompaña donde sea que vaya. Poseo una Lista llena de cosas por hacer antes de estirar la pata.

Para quienes no vean el tener un sitio web como parte de un emprendimiento, permitidme presentar defensa.

Soy viajero cubano. Lo que se traduce en no tener cuenta bancaria mundial y cero posibilidad de acercarme al mundo del Internet desde una posición decente. Te garantizo que podría llenarte la Blockchain si nos pusiéramos a hablar sobre el tema de la vida cubana.

Pero este post no es de política y, uhm, deja ver cómo te lo digo a sotto voce: a todas luces tengo miedo hacerlo.

Nace un Blog de Viajes

Primero, gracias a mi hermano mayor (ese sí es emprendedor de pura cepa), pude hacerme el sitio personal inicial en servidores que prestan o prestaban servicios de hosting y dominio gratis. De esta forma nació lucioviajero.ga. No pierdan tiempo en pincharlo, no existe desde hace mucho.

Con la pandemia y la crisis global, estas empresas pasaron a solo ofrecer sus servicios de pago. Y mi sueño, en pleno florecimiento romántico, de la noche a la mañana, marchitó.

¿Qué hacer? No podía creerme este dolor tan profundo. Pasé cientos de horas reinvestigando. No apareció proveedor alguno con una oferta gratis.

Aquí puede que te vengan a la mente algunos subdominios como Blogger, Wordpress y otros de ese tipo… Sin embargo, no es lo que anhelaba mi alma. No quiero parecer ambicioso ni mucho menos, pero deseaba mi dominio propio, con mi firma personal.

Categorías de un blog de viajes

Gracias a Dios, no solo pude crear mi Blog personal, sino que he podido ayudar a otros con mis Guías de Viaje y algunos consejos útiles. Esa es la idea de lo que hacemos los Travel Bloggers. Escribimos nuestras experiencias y aventuras como parte de una alegría contagiosa, dinámica; con ganas de que sean lo más interesantes posible.

Pero como parte de esa filosofía mochilera no solo describimos los detalles turísticos famosos; sino también aquellos que pudiesen pasar desapercibidos y que bien vale la pena conocer para quienes tienen pensado visitar los mismos sitios que ya uno ha visto.

Para organizar lo publicado, se agrupan muchas veces por tipos de turismo, o aquello que pudiese interesarle a otros viajeros. Por esto puedes encontrar en este Blog, Categorías como:

Relatos de Viaje

Info Útil

Naturaleza y Aventura

Sol y playa

Tours y Excursiones

Ciudades Encanto

Entre otras.

Vaya, que mi mayor anhelo es servir a los demás con aquello que amo.

Verdad

Una de las características de un Blog de viajes y que apoyo por completo es la veracidad de tus relatos. Es inaceptable para un Travel Blogger mentir. Puede que tu apreciación no sea la misma que para otros; o que, enamorado de un sitio, le veas castillos en el aire, y unos años después sea la ruina de lugar.

Pero, jamás, bajo ninguna circunstancia, se puede escribir nada que no sea cierto.

En este punto vale acotar algo. Puede que la verdad no lo sea, o esté en tela de juicio (cultural, regional, estilístico…) Vaya, para que me entiendas, lo resumiré con un ejemplo concreto. Una vez escribí algo sobre Cayo Bariay.

Para quien no conoce este sitio, el emplazamiento Monumental Cayo Bariay se presenta de forma oficial como el encuentro de las dos culturas; el lugar por donde desembarcó Cristóbal Colón. Pero hay otras versiones que no le consideran el sitio real… No discuto sobre el tema, tal vez he pecado con un cliché gubernamental; mas la aventura vivida en aquel viaje: eso escribí.

Despedida inconclusa

Los viajeros nunca nos despedimos, estamos siempre dispuestos a reencontrarnos o vivimos muchas veces con la nostalgia de no poder regresar…

Hello, hello, community of entrepreneurs and dreamers. This is my second time joining this group "Be Entrepreneur" #hive-140971. Today, with the humility of someone who knows anything but being a born entrepreneur, I'm here to tell you about the only business I can truly say I own, thank God.

Because the truth is, if I tell you about the many other ventures I've tried, they never get past the initial stage, or at best, the average stage. Oh, and of course, they never offered me any real profit. (Losses, yes; I'm an expert at that).

I've always been bad at business. Even when I've made things myself, like my forays into visual arts and crafts, where I sold my work for half price and ended up giving many away.

I can't complain about the theater, though: the Theater Center pays me a mega-salary of 2200 pesos a month. (I'm talking about Cuba, 2025, 2026, when you only need about 30,000 pesos to eat decent rice).

Backpacker at heart

When I think about my perpetual wanderlust, I think it must have been easy for my mom to give birth to me. Hahaha. Because for as long as I can remember, I've always loved moving from one place to another.

As you can see, I've titled this post this way because it couldn't be any other way. My Travel Blog is the only venture I've been able to undertake—with great difficulty—and that has had some success.

Well, let's call it success, first: the almost miraculous Cuban feat of being able to have it. Then, publishing on it almost regularly, and finally, another of the miracles God has given me: being able to maintain it.

Well, if I keep talking about the mystical aspects of this, I'll have to publish this post in Sunday's Miracles, which @neuropoeta runs in the Green Zone Community (#hive-164923).

Entrepreneurship, or not?

When it comes to dreams, aspirations, and longings, I have a treasure chest full of them that accompanies me wherever I go. I have a long list of things to do before I kick the bucket.

For those who don't see having a website as part of entrepreneurship, allow me to defend myself.

I'm a Cuban traveler. Which translates to not having a global bank account and zero possibility of approaching the world of the internet from a decent position. I guarantee I could fill up the blockchain if we started talking about Cuban life.

But this post isn't about politics, and, uhm, let me tell you this quietly: I'm quite afraid to do it.

A Travel Blog is Born

First, thanks to my older brother (now that's a true entrepreneur!), I was able to create my initial personal website on servers that offered, or used to offer, free hosting and domain services. That's how https://lucioviajero.ga was born. Don't waste your time clicking on it; it's been gone for ages.

With the pandemic and the global crisis, these companies switched to offering only paid services. And my dream, in its full romantic blossoming, withered away overnight.

What to do? I couldn't believe this profound disappointment. I spent hundreds of hours researching. No provider appeared with a free offer.

At this point, you might think of subdomains like Blogger, WordPress, and others of that type… However, that's not what my soul longed for. I don't want to sound ambitious, not at all, but I wanted my own domain, with my personal signature.

Travel Blog Categories

Thank God, I was not only able to create my personal blog, but I've also been able to help others with my travel guides and useful tips. That's the idea behind what we travel bloggers do. We write about our experiences and adventures with contagious, dynamic joy, wanting to make them as interesting as possible.

But as part of that backpacking philosophy, we don't just describe famous tourist attractions; we also cover hidden gems that might go unnoticed but are well worth knowing for those planning to visit the same places we've already seen.

To organize the posts, they are often grouped by type of tourism or by what might interest other travelers. Therefore, you can find categories on this blog such as:

Well, my greatest desire is to serve others with what I love.

Truth

One of the characteristics of a Travel Blog, which I fully support, is the veracity of your stories. It's unacceptable for a travel blogger to lie. Your opinion might not be the same as others'; or you might, enamored with a place, see castles in the air, only to find a few years later that it's a ruin.

But, never, under any circumstances, should you write anything that isn't true.

At this point, it's worth clarifying something. The truth may not be the whole story, or it may be open to question (culturally, regionally, stylistically, etc.). To help you understand, I'll summarize with a concrete example. I once wrote something about Cayo Bariay.

For those unfamiliar with this place, the Cayo Bariay Monumental Site is officially presented as the meeting point of two cultures; the place where Christopher Columbus landed. But there are other versions that don't consider it the actual site… I won't argue about the matter; perhaps I've succumbed to a government cliché; but the adventure I experienced on that trip: that's what I wrote about.

An Unfinished Farewell
