Transplant my chili and paprika plants🫑🫑

Welcome to a new post, dear Hiver!

A few days ago I was working hard on the future garden. But, don't think it's over, there is still a lot to do.

Just when 8 weeks and 2 days were up, I transplanted my peppers and peppers.

I had it in mind, so I completely let go of work so I could have time in the garden. Right now I have plants for the love of art, but I know that one day I will be able to make a living from my passion for gardening.

Meanwhile, I work on everything that gives me satisfaction, and that is 'producing some of my own food.'

So I started the first transplant of the peppers and chili peppers. To do this, he had to open holes in the containers.

There are many in the yard. Well, not much, just some. Dad used some of them to store water, others as part of the chicken coop.

So now I use them as pots. They have a good capacity so that will allow the roots of the plants to develop well.

Then I filled them with soil and dry leaves from the trees. In the yard there is a lot thanks to the trees, that will give enough nutrients to the soil.

Although this sounds simple (because I write it and it is impressive that it summarizes a morning's work in just a few lines), it was arduous. Load the soil with the shovel, which is a little heavy. The leaves, cutting the containers with the saw, etc.

It is not the part that I enjoy the most, but it is strictly necessary.

It also counts as exercise. I fulfilled the number of hours of physical activity that I do not do with this chili and paprika transplant routine.

After that I only dedicated myself to separating the small plants. Water the soil very well. It must be humid for the transplant to be a success and the plant to adapt better.

Also a few hours before, water the seedbeds with water. That way they stay hydrated, it is easier to remove the plants completely with soil, and they separate faster.

And I planted them in a group of two. I have a little problem with this because I'm terrified of an animal making a mess, so I plant them in 2 to have at least one live plant in case it happens.

After that I only dedicated myself to placing the corresponding security, which consists of burying sticks from the trees. With this I prevent the cats from approaching. None of them want to go into a place where they can be pulled with a stick, so they don't go near it.

I also placed cacti on it, these have the same super important mission as the tree sticks.

Although I am considering removing the cacti so they don't steal energy from the growing plants. However, as I already told you, I am very afraid that something will happen to my plants. I hope nothing happens to them because I really have a lot of hope for these little ones.

And agaves. The agaves are key to keeping the dog from approaching the wall. He has the habit of barking at outside cats and to do so he leans against the wall.

Since the day I planted them I have only been observing them. Early in the morning I look at them, and in the afternoon before closing the doors of the house as well.

Monitoring them is very useful, so I am attentive to animal attacks. From my cats, and from pests that may attack them.

For example, here you see a plastic bottle because the birds were eating one of the small paprika plants. I detected it in time for that reason.

Because when you are aware of your plants you can prevent. You can get ahead of events, apply a plant remedy such as a repellent, or improve anti-cat security.

As a last observation I want to share with you this...

What you see here is one of my tables in Google Sheet where I usually write down data to keep track of my garden that I am creating.

As you will see, it is in Spanish, it is my language so that is why it is in that language.

  • What it mentions is the item in the first column, which is chili and paprika.

  • In the second column is the sowing date, which was 10-13-2025 during the last quarter moon.

  • In the third column is the transplant date, which was recently 10-12-2025.

  • In the fourth column place the lunar phase in which I did the transplant. This time it was during a waning gibbous moon.

  • In the fifth column place the days elapsed between the sowing date and the transplant date, which were 8 weeks and 2 days.

This last column has a formula that calculates all this, so I don't have to do it manually.

I hope by New Year to have other plants that I planted ready to transplant. From what I will be telling you about it, I also hope to tell you about my green bean planting, I am so excited that I bought some beans this weekend to plant.
