🌵I found a cactus in the street, I also found hope

Welcome to a new post, dear Hiver!

Yesterday I was walking down the street and I got very lucky.

Something unfortunate had happened; a man asked me for money, but I didn't have any, so I couldn't help him. However, his expression stayed with me; he really needed the money.

That got me thinking, so I walked along with it on my mind.

When suddenly I came across this little cactus, which helped clear my head a bit.

I carefully picked it up and took it home.

It was alone on the street; I suppose that piece fell off. So now I have a new species at home for free.

I placed it next to another cactus while I waited for the right moment to plant it. Today that moment arrived.

I decided to put it in the seed tray. Since I already have blackberry plants that I've transplanted, I can use them.

It's quite a large plant, so I might have to move it soon, and just thinking about it excites me.

I don't know why, but I love these kinds of plants. They're magnificent, resistant to heat and drought, and that makes me love them even more.

Also, in a way, gardening helps me clear my head a bit from everyday life.

This year has been tough in my country; you can feel it when you walk down the street. Things are very difficult: surviving in a country with inflation, managing money as best you can, or trying to get much more money because life here in Venezuela is so expensive—it's hard. Very hard.

So, in a way, plants help me forget all the stress this generates. They clear my mind and even give me hope.

Hope that I'll be able to see them grow like this cactus. Hope of seeing their flowers. Hope that everything will improve in our country.

It's incredible how gardening makes you think about so many things, how it adds immeasurable value to life.

Just in the street? Interesting find especially if there's none in the ares, wonder what it fell off? Hope it grows well :)

There were other cacti bigger than it; I suppose it was one that was barely growing and fell over. So I took advantage of it. Its wound was dry, so I think it had been outside for a few days.
