A strange title for a post that deserves it.
These past few months have been odd. I was almost convinced my zamioculcas was going to die.
My sister brought it to me; she knew I'd wanted one for a long time. Some of the bulbs were damaged in the process, so at first I thought that had affected it.
But it turns out the real culprit in this story is me. I decided to start watering it every two weeks, which caused part of it to rot.

Then, seeing that it was rotting, I reduced the watering. I stopped watering it for two months. I thought it would dry out, that it would die, that I would lose the plant I had loved for so long.
But I was wrong. Reducing the watering so drastically is what saved it.
That part that rotted is gone. Fortunately, it wasn't the whole plant.
Now I only water it once a month, on the first day of each month. This has been the best solution.
I leave it on a table and don't look at it much.

Okay, this is going to be strange, but my father used to say that some plants don't like being looked at. And he's right.
After reducing the watering and ceasing to look at it, it started to become bushier.
A new stem sprouted from it, which is growing very, very slowly.

This plant, the zamioculcas, is very slow-growing. So if you observe it daily, you might go crazy because you think it will never grow. On the other hand, being a person with many ideas, I decided to measure it with a ruler every time I saw it. That way, I could see how much it had grown.
A millimeter, a centimeter... You can't see it with the naked eye, but if you're very observant, you can.
This plant has been crazy, and the biggest challenge as a gardening girl.
Now let's go to the garden
Some things have happened in the garden.
Let me see where I begin...
Well, first I planted my beautiful oregano and acetaminophen plants. They grew a lot, and the cats made a mess. The plants became shapeless clumps. Everything was a disastrous mess.
I'm waiting until the new year to fix everything because, to be honest, I wasn't in the mood to face it. I had to prepare myself mentally.
The cats also left some "gifts," and no, they weren't good New Year's presents.
A few days ago, I started restoring the garden. I'd been busy with the interior of the house, and that's why I hadn't had time to tidy up the garden.
I cleaned everything and took out a big bag of trash. I had to remove a few plants because they were beyond saving.
After cleaning, I put everything back in order.
I did it very strategically, so the cats wouldn't have any opportunities to make a mess, and also so I wouldn't have to constantly move some of the plants because that stresses them out, and it shows.

Now everything is in order. Except for the plants I put in the garage. I need to transplant and fix all of that. Maybe I'll do it later or tomorrow. It all depends on the weather; I just hope it doesn't rain.
And those have been my gardening days—crazy, insane, very wild.
New news is coming this year. Some plants have already sprouted, and I was already working in the vegetable garden in 2025. So I feel like this will be a good year for the garden.

So sad to killed a plant by overwatering. But I found the balance and gave it space with your garden. Keep planting and growing.
It's the first time I have one, beginner mistakes hahaha. I hope it doesn't happen to me again.
