When I said that hibiscuses are the last flowers that bloom in my garden, I completely forgot that this year I also planted gladioli.
I really like gladioli, but at the same time I don't like the difficulties associated with their cultivation. In my region, the main problem is that it is necessary to dig up the bulbs in the fall and plant them again in the spring.
Even global warming has not solved this problem. Previously, the frosts were much stronger, but there was also a thick layer of snow, which increased the chances of survival for all bulbous colours.
Now frosts are very rare. But the problem is that snow is even rarer. And now nothing protects the soil from sudden frost.
By the way, it also reflected on my lilies! This year, many of them never went up. The bulbs probably died in the winter. Now in the fall I will have to replenish my collection by buying new bulbs. To be honest, all this is quite tiring and also quite expensive. I'm starting to think that probably all my ornamental garden will be grown in flowerpots, which I will take into the house for the cold period. It's certainly not very convenient, but with such weather changes, I just don't see any other options.

Wow and you have all of these just growing in the garden now? That is super awesome. I didn't even know you had to dig them up? I just thought you could leave the bulbs in the ground like tulips?
But if they need to be taken inside...well if you see how beautiful they are flourishing now, it does seem worth the effort honestly, stunning!
colorful and beautiful
Using flowerpots to protect them from frost is a good idea, even if it is not very convenient. I hope your flowers will grow well and stay healthy.
