Growing Black Krim Heirloom Tomatoes from Saved Seeds ๐Ÿ…๐ŸŒฑ

(edited)

I was quite excited to see the seeds from my previous tomato plant grow. The previous plant came from a deep-red Black Krim tomato and produced black tomatoes, so I was wondering what colour the new tomatoes would be.

So I planted the seeds I had saved from the previous plant. I was pleased to see them growing, and they even had some colour on their stems, which made me think they might turn out the same as the ones I had grown before...

Glittering stems when the sun hits them.

I transferred them into plant pots.

And then moved them into bigger pots as they grew.

After a few weeks, they started producing the same beautiful flowers.

I had been looking after them well, removing the old leaves and keeping the plants tidy.

I also started removing the little shoots that grow between the stem and the leaf. Apparently, removing these can help the plant produce bigger tomatoes, so let's see!

The first tomatoes I grew from the red tomato turned out black. This year, they are almost the same.

Although one plant is producing tomatoes with more of a violet colour and more green.

I assume that, as they ripen, some of the green will turn red. And oh, those dusty bits are glittering in the sunlight!

They look happy enough, so hopefully, they will keep growing and producing more fruit! ๐Ÿ…

I absolutely love this tomato. Not just because it produces dense fruits, but also because it is such a beautiful plant. So, Iโ€™ll be saving its seeds every year and hopefully growing it for many years to come. ๐Ÿ…๐ŸŒฑ

Have a lovely day.

Wow! Plenty of fruits, cherry tomatoes, they are delicious and sweet! I have one, but itโ€™s just starting to form fruits. You must be on top of the planting on time, I assume. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Yes, they look really gorgeous chopped up together! I love seeing all the different colours too so Iโ€™m planning to grow even more varieties next year and will try drying them, but not too sunny here though so have to use dehydartor, youโ€™re lucky you can sun-dry them where you are, theyโ€™re soo delicious! ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿ’•
