A Visit to My Sister Green, Fresh and Growing Cucumber Plants in the Province - A Cucumber Plants Journey

(edited)

Truly when you plant with love and patience, you will harvest abundantly!

Greetings to all farmers and gardeners here on hive, most especially here @hive garden. I'm back to share another farming journey and today it's all about my sister cucumber plat!

Today, I’d like to share with you my younger sister cucumber plants that has been growing. Last week, when we went home for a visit, I was so amazed when I saw her garden. The cucumbers looked so healthy and green also the fruits were large and many!

When we were kids, I remember that we used to plant cucumbers in our hometown because the weather there is quite warm, just perfect for cucumber plants. But since I got married and moved here in Benguet, where the climate is much cooler, we didn’t take a risk in planting cucumbers anymore. I'm not so sure they don’t really thrive well in cold weather.

Here’s how my sister take care of her cucumber plants. First, they clean and prepare the land. Then they till the soil before transplanting the cucumber seedlings. The seedlings are first grown in small pots, just like in the photos. And when they’re big enough, they’re transplanted into the field. This method helps the plants more percentage to survive than the one directly planted, since their roots are already surrounded by soil when transferred.

Once the vines start to grow and crawl, they add fertilizer and cover it with soil to make sure the nutrients are absorbed properly by the plants. After a few weeks, the plants begin to bloom it's flower and eventually started to bear fruit. Regular spraying is also needed to protect them from leaf miners, fungus, and other pests that can damage the crops.

After around three months of maintainance and patience, the plants finally produce big, fresh and beautiful cucumbers that are ready for harvest! My sister harvested a lot because the cucumber was taken care of carefully and with love. Truly that the fruits proof that all the effort and proper care paid off.

That's all for today, that’s how we plant and take care of our cucumber plants. I hope you enjoyed reading and maybe learned a little bit about planting cucumbers! Feel free to share your thoughts, experiences and questions in the comments. I'm also open for any suggestions!

Thank you so much for taking time to read my simple farming blog, I really appreciate your time and support! Always remember to keep smiling and stay safe!

Wow, I’m impressed with how clean and well-maintained her garden is. The leaves are so healthy and fruits are big! I understand the climate difference in Benguet, same with the place of my parents so cold and always foggy.

Thank you so much for stopping by and reading my blog. Yes you're right, the weather is different and that's one reason why some plants are not suitable here, though they can thrive but it's to risky.
