This walk I took in a park called Los Próceres in the city of Caracas led me to these gardens with plants with flowers of different colors, all beautiful under the sun.

These are all outdoor plants adapted to living in full sun and generally bloom almost year-round in these tropical conditions, where temperatures are also warm. In other conditions, they would need protection from low temperatures.

On this walk, I came across a plant that was planted in pots.

This plant is native to Africa and is called Alegria del hogar (Joy of the Home), which I thought was a very beautiful name. Its scientific name is Impatiens walleriana, and there is variation in the color of the flowers, from white to different shades of pink, orange and red. There are also variations in the shape of the leaves. It blooms almost all year round.

These decorative planters are also growing very well.

I loved this plant in these pots hanging from the posts. It is called "Celosia plumosa". The color of its inflorescences is what caught my attention the most. Of course, its name refers to the fact that its inflorescences resemble feathers.

This plant with red flowers and purple leaves hanging from the pot is of the Plectranthus species, , also called the walking plant. I didn't know it.

The pots around the fountains have beautiful begonias with red flowers and heart-shaped leaves.This is one of my favorite ornamental plants, not only because of the beauty of its flowers but also because of the variety of its foliage.

There are many species and cultivars of Begonia that vary in the shape and color of their leaves.

These plants look very beautiful. I think the sun and the water from the fountain that moistens them are good for them.

Saludos amigos de esta comunidad de amantes de las plantas y los jardines.

Esta caminata que realicé en un parque llamado Los Próceres, en la ciudad de Caracas, me llevó a estos jardines de plantas con flores de diferentes colores, todas hermosas bajo el sol.

Estas son todas plantas de exterior, adaptadas a vivir a plena exposición solar y en general florecen casi todo el año en estas condiciones tropicales, donde ademas las temperaturas son cálidas. En otras condiciones necesitarian protección a las bajas temperaturas.

En este recorrido me encontre con una planta que estaba sembrada en macetas.

Es originaria de Africa y la llaman Alegría del hogar, me parecio un nombre muy lindo. Su nombre científico es Impatiens walleriana, y hay variación en el color de las flores, desde blanco, diferentes tonos de rosado y rojo. Tambien hay variaciones en la forma de las hojas. Ella florece casi todo el año.

En estas macetas que cuelgan de los postes, esta planta me encanto. Es la llamada Celosia plumosa. El color de sus inflorescencias es lo que me llamó mas la atención. En esta fotografía que les comparto se ven de colores fucsia, amarillo y naranja. Hermosas.

Los pompones tambien llamados Caléndulas con sus flores de colores amarillo y naranja siempre llaman la atención y los que fotografie en estas macetas colgante estaban en plena floración.

Esta planta de flores rojas y de hojas de coloración morada que cuelgan de la maceta es de la especie Plectranthus, también llamada planta caminadora. No la conocía.

Las macetas que estan alrededor de las fuentes tienen unas hermosas begonias de flores rojas y hojas de forma acorazonada. Hay muchas especies y cultivares de Begonia que varian en la forma y coloración de sus hojas. Mi madre tenía una colección de begonias en el patio de su casa que lamentablemente se fueron muriendo, cuando ella perdio el gusto por las plantas.

Estas plantas se ven muy hermosas, creo que el sol y el agua de la fuente que las humedece, le hacen bién.
