Super Ateng Coffee: A Variety That Can Produce Fruit Quickly and in Large Quantities

I'm so happy to be back in this community to share a post about gardens. I'm sharing another post about our gardening activities.

Let's see what's in our garden. When we have free time in the afternoon, we go behind the house. Our garden is nearby, just behind the house, and it has a large area.

However, this garden is a bit challenging because it's on a slope with sloping soil. It's located above our house, as behind our house is a hill where we have a garden for vegetables and coffee.

This time, we'll take a look at our coffee in this garden. Coffee is the main commodity grown on almost all the plantations in our village. Because our town is located in the Gayo Highlands, with its cool climate, coffee thrives in this area.

This is a newly cleared plantation last year. After clearing the land and clearing weeds, my father planted coffee beans. Dozens of coffee seedlings, planted several years ago, are now tall and bearing fruit.

Indeed, the area with its cool air and hilly terrain is perfect for growing coffee. The coffee variety my father planted is Super Ateng Coffee. If you look closely, you'll notice that the coffee trees do indeed appear short.

This is one of the advantages of Ateng Super coffee: it can bear fruit quickly even though the tree is still short. After just over a year, this coffee can produce fruit.

When I measured it, the coffee tree was only about 50 cm tall, and the young leaves were already emerging. This coffee is an Arabica coffee, a superior variety found in Takengon.

According to my father, Arabica coffee is very easy to grow in our city. This type of coffee is also very easy to care for and is not susceptible to disease.

The coffee tree trunk appears very sturdy, with numerous branches growing from the trunk. It is on these branches that the coffee cherries grow in rows on each branch.

These coffee cherries appear young, green, and round but slightly oblong. We will likely be able to pick these green cherries and harvest them in the next month.

To care for this coffee, my father often cuts and removes weeds that grow around the tree trunks. As for fertilizer, he usually adds urea and organic fertilizer, he just added fertilizer around the tree trunk a few months ago.

Senang sekali saya dapat kembali di komunitas ini untuk berbagi posting tentang garden. Saya ini kembali berbagi postingan tentang aktivitas kami pergi ke kebun.

Ayo mari kita lihat apa yang ada di kebun kami, ketika kami memiliki waktu luang di sore hari, kami pergi ke belakang rumah. Kebun kami ini dekat, hanya di belakang rumah, memiliki lahan yang luas.

Tetapi kebun ini sedikit menyusahkan, karena berada dilereng dengan tekstur tanah miring. Berada di atas rumah kami, karena di belakang rumah kami ini adalah bukit, tempat dimana kami menjadikan sebagai kebun untuk menanam sayur dan kopi.

Kali ini kita akan melihat kopi kami yang ada di kebun ini, memang kopi adalah komoditas utama yang ditanam hampir diseluruh perkebunan yang ada di desa kami. Karena kota kami berada di dataran tinggi Gayo, dengan udara yang sejuk, jadi kopi sangat bagus untuk ditanami di daerah ini.

Ini adalah kebun yang baru dibersihkan tahun yang lalu, setelah pembukaan lahan dan dibersihkan dari rumput liar, ayah saya menanam biji kopi. Puluhan bibit kopi yang telah disemai beberapa tahun yang lalu, kini kopi ini telah tumbuh tinggi dan berbuah.

Memang wilayah dengan udara yang sejuk dan tanah berbukit sangat cocok untuk ditanami kopi. Jenis kopi yang ditanami ayah saya ini adalah Kopi Ateng Super, jika anda perhatikan, pohon kopi ini memang tampak pendek.

Inilah salah satu keunggulan kopi Ateng Super ini, kopi jenis ini dapat berbuah dengan cepat meskipun pohonnya masih pendek. Hanya dalam usia satu tahun lebih, kopi ini dapat langsung berbuah.

Jika saya ukur, tinggi pohon kopi hanya masih sekitar 50 cm lebih, daun-daun mudapun tampak sudah keluar. Kopi ini termasuk ke dalam jenis kopi Arabika, sebuah jenis varietas yang paling unggul di Takengon.

Menurut keterangan Ayah saya, kopi Arabika sangat mudah tumbuh di kota kami. Kopi jenis ini juga sangat mudah perawatannya dan tidak mudah terserang penyakit.

Batang pokok kopinya tampak sangat kokoh, dengan cabang batang tumbuh sangat banyak. Dicabang inilah buah-buah kopi akan tumbuh berderet di setiap batang cabang.

Buah kopi ini tampak masih muda, berwarna hijau, buahnya tampah bulat namun sedikit melonjong. Buah kopi yang hijau ini kemungkinan akan segera dapat kami petik dan panen satu bulan kedepan.

Untuk merawat kopi ini, ayah saya sering memotong dan mencabut rumput liar yang tumbuh di sekitar area batang pohon. Sedangkan pupuk, dia biasanya menambahkan pupuk urea dan pupuk organik, dia baru saja memberikan pupuk di sekitar batang pohon beberapa bulan yang lalu.
