How Crops Are Being Lost Due to Lack of Rain and the Intense Sun

The drought has been so severe that the plantain plants are drying out; I water them a bit with a hose, but it doesn't have the same effect as rain.

Despite everything, some of the plants are producing bunches, though they are struggling to develop—some are very small and others very thin due to the lack of nutrients from the soil and rain.

Right now, the plants have a lot of fallen, dry leaves around them that prevent the water being applied from reaching the roots.

We are going to find a way to clean them up, as some have fruit clusters and there are many small offshoots that will be planted separately to see how they develop.
