My Pechay Journey Day 17: Seedlings into a Real Garden

There's really a lot of waiting when it comes to gardening...

‎Over this past week, I've been extremely busy.

‎Even finding time to write an article felt like a struggle.

‎My days were packed, and my little pechay seedlings had to wait patiently while I handled everything else.

‎But today, I finally had time to continue my planting journey.

‎As I visited my pechay, they've grown a little bigger now.

‎But even as they continued growing, I knew I couldn't keep delaying it anymore.

‎They needed a permanent place!

‎So today, I finally decided to transfer them directly to the soil beside our house.

‎As for our chicken, she had to be caged for a while so she wouldn't scratch the soil and undo all my hard work. 🫣

‎I started by clearing the area, removing the rocks scattered on the ground.

‎Then I dug into the soil, breaking up the hard clods, making it loose and soft.

‎After that, I shaped it like a raised bed.

‎Then, one by one, I planted each seedling.

‎As I transferred them, separating them from each other was the hardest part.

‎Their roots had already grown so close together, like tiny threads that refused to let go. 🥹

‎Some separated nicely, but others were already too connected.

‎Like they didn't want to be alone anymore. 👀

‎So instead of forcing them apart, I planted some as pairs, and even three in the same spot.

‎Just not to damage their fragile roots.

‎I know they might not grow well like that, but nature has its own way of surviving.

‎Maybe they'll grow together stronger.

‎Hoping... 💕

‎Anyway, after finishing the first two rows, I couldn't stop anymore.

‎So I continued shaping more soil and creating more rows.

‎And I'm happy that I still made eight more raised beds.

‎I continued planting more seedlings there that I didn't even notice it was already lunchtime.

‎My hubby called me to eat, but I didn't want to stop just yet, not until I finished planting.

‎Now I finally understand why some people forget to eat when they're busy gardening. 😅

‎And look at my garden! 😍

‎Looking at those pechay made me feel proud. 😂

‎There are still some remaining seedlings, but they won't go to waste.

‎I already talked to my mother-in-law, and she agreed to take them and transfer them to her place tomorrow.

‎So yeah...

‎This is Day 17 of my pechay planting journey, and I can't wait to see how these little greens grow in the coming days. 😻

‎Until my next proud moments...

Thanks for the visit! Have a lovely day. Buh-bye. 💗🌸
