WEEK 4 - Easter

Easter
Well, Easter brings back fond memories of my childhood.
Since I live in a mixed environment, some celebrate Easter according to the Gregorian calendar, While we Orthodox celebrate according to the Julian calendar.
Like this year, sometimes they are at the same time, and sometimes there are differences of up to three or four weeks. But that doesn't pose a problem for us all to enjoy both Easters together.

When I remember my childhood
We didn't look for Easter eggs!
Made nests where the Easter bunny would bring us eggs as a gift, there was also chocolate.
Motivation from our parents. We made nests from grass and flowers, which are plentiful at this time of year, In some secluded placel let's not scare the Easter bunny. That's the tradition my parents passed on to me.I passed on the nest-making to my son,
Who proudly built his own nest this year too and can't wait for the week.

We use homemade eggs for dyeing and try to dye most of the eggs in onion skins.
There will be a picture of the dyed eggs soon
I think Easter is connects chickens, bunnies and gardening
Because it's all so beautifully connected.
I used to keep rabbits not many, one or two.
They are a bit naughty and can cause damage in the garden if they escape from the woodshed.
But they are very friendly if you teach them to be handled from a young age.
Anyone who is into gardening should know that rabbit pellets (dung) are very beneficial for plants
And you can use it right away, place a few pellets around the plant.

I also mentioned chickens and that we use domestic eggs
We have about fifteen chickens every year
My son likes to play and pet the animals, and among the chickens he found his favorite
A snow-white chicken with a coat, a little dirty from mud and rain
Because the yard where we keep the chickens is left without grass, they clean every blade of grass neatly
But they regularly get fresh grass when we mow the yard or gard.

I wish you a happy and blessed Easter
Spend it in peace and health with your family and friends.

I love this post!!! It reminds me of traditions worldwide - we don't do things the same. . I love how you dye your own eggs and make your own nests. What a great tradition!

We have feral rabbits and they are massive pests. There are some huge warrens we have to deal with that I noticed yesterday - thanks for the reminder as I'm going to collect a bucket of their pellets today!

Thank you for your kind words.
If I have the opportunity, and I will try to do a post about Vojvodina, its peoples and traditions.
A lot of things in one place.

Luckily, there are not enough wild rabbits in our area to cause problems
They have many natural enemies.
