In our area, lemons can't be grown in the garden because of winter and frost, but I know people who grow lemons in pots in our area, and they bear fruit. Interesting rooting technique, maybe I'll try growing lemons.

The best thing to do in that case is find a really sheltered wall to grow them against. Sheltered from wind, and catches any sun. You also need to cover when it's frosty. It's possible!
