Today is April 29, and as I write this post I'm thinking about tomorrow's day, evening and night. Thursday night to Friday May 1st, frost is predicted. Nighttime temperature zero degrees Celsius. Since many plants have already sprouted, I'll have to cover some with soil again to protect them from frost. I'm using all available resources and hay, cardboard, bottles, soil. And the heater in the greenhouse didn't stop heating overnight. Daytime temperatures are excellent, ranging from 17-24. But the night is very fluctuating. I hope this is the last week where we fight the battle with frost. According to the forecast for Monday night, May 4th, they predict 15 degrees overnight.
As I mentioned, I will have to cover some plants with soil, these are both types of zucchini that have sprouted, and they are still small, so I will have to cover them additionally without any problems.

One of the plants I also plan to cover with soil is beets.

I plan to cover the carrots and moss curled parsley with hay. They're predicting 14-15 degrees on Thursday and Friday, so that will be a bit of an easing of circumstances to not rush into removing protection.

Since they started with the announcements from 2 nights to 1 and finally reached zero, it could easily happen that the temperature goes below zero. The easiest way to protect them is with potted plants. Because we physically bring them into a greenhouse or a warm room. Hibiscus.

The quince is large and branched but still has a lot of flowers. We will try to partially protect all those branches in bloom with sacks. We have a slightly easier job with the medlar, which is all in bloom but is a small plant so one sack will cover it completely.

If you have any suggestions?
Agrotextile is good but I didn't plan to buy it after the previous frost because I thought there wouldn't be a need.Overall this year has been good, except for a few colder nights, a couple of dangerous frosts, and fluctuating temperatures from night to night :)
Thanks for reading.
Until next time.
Stay healthy.
