A promising year

The radishes in the greenhouse have arrived and they haven't managed to grow big, we're eating them, the sweetest ones are so small.

The strawberries are in bloom and have formed fruits.
What worries us both for strawberries and for some other species are the nights. The daytime temperature reaches 24-25 degrees Celsius, but for tonight they announced only 3 degrees, and 3 degrees are reported on Thursday night. Our rule of thumb is that we can tolerate temperatures down to 5-6 degrees at night, but anything below that is very risky and difficult for many plants. We prepared bags to cover the strawberries overnight, but today there is a very strong wind here with gusts of up to 40 km/h, so it blew our bags away.
Although this is not a gale force wind, it is quite annoying.

My hot peppers are red pepperonis that I keep in a pot and cover with a water balloon overnight. They are doing well and I will have to transplant them soon. I was late planting the yellow pepperonis so they haven't sprouted yet.

Vinca Major, I think it's a large periwinkle, has bloomed.

The mint in the pot and around it and in the other part has also progressed nicely. In our yard it has started to grow like a wild plant, wherever it sprouts we leave it and are careful not to cut it down.

As the title says, the year promises apricot figs...They are progressing well for now without any major problems or illnesses.I pruned the apricots less this year, so now there are a lot of fruit that are already bending the branches. I will have to make a ladder to support those branches so they don't break. I think it will be the same with the pears in the yard, the figs have a good fruit distribution so far and are holding up well.

The potatoes successfully recovered from a light frost, after that we covered them with sacks and now they are doing just fine.

Garlic and onion are excellent, my wife regularly treated them with ashes against onion flies. And we immediately removed diseased and infected stems.

20260426_162527.jpgWe mulched the peas with hay from parts, as we had the material. The peas are doing well, but so is the grass in the whole garden. So ours is expecting competition from the grass. Many plants have been sown and have not yet sprouted.20260426_162521.jpg

Thanks for reading.
Until next time.
Stay healthy.

You've got a lovely garden: the chives, mint and radishes are delicious when eaten fresh. Big hugs.

Your garden friend is so healthy and productive. We planted radish white, I did not even try this variety.

Thank you . I don't like white radishes, but you love red ones and so does everyone in my household.

Lots of lovely items you have growing there! Looks like a fantastic mix of things to enjoy soon. I hope the weather didn't get too cold for your strawberries! It's so tough in the in-between seasons when the temperatures can still swing greatly either way.
