How to make mint plants out of mint stems

Hi everyone, and welcome to my account where I post useful plant content. Today's topic is about making new mint plants from existing mint stems that you can harvest from existing mint plants or simply buy from the market. So let's get into it.

So, to make new mint plants from mint stems that you bought or harvested, you're gonna have to make these stems grow roots, and you can do this in two separate ways.
You can:

1st option: Bury the stems, and wait until the stems root and grow new branches.
2nd option: You can place the stems in a cup halfway filled with water and wait until the stems root and grow new branches, THEN, you can bury them .

  • You have to take the leaves off of the stems before doing anything with them in both methods.
  • You have to bury the stems horizontally in both methods like this:

Although the first option is faster because you wait, then you the plant appears out of the ground without you having to do anything other than water it of course, the second option requires you to wait for the stems to root in the water, THEN you bury them. But I like to stick with the second option, because it's not 100% guaranteed for all of the stems to root in both methods, that makes it easy to spot the stems that didn't root so you can throw them away, and if you did something wrong in the first option, like your soil isn't good or you over-watered the soil, this is gonna make the stems rot in the soil even if they already had roots, it makes you excited over nothing, and also it'll take space and soil that you could've used to plant something else.

And you actually don't to grow them in soil at all, you can keep them growing in water. And this actually has some pros:
• You don't have to come every day to water them, it's so obvious why, But you're going to have to replace the water every week, but it's still easy.
• You can put it on the kitchen counter but you have to make sure it gets sunlight so the leaves can do photosynthesize.
• If you don't have any soil, this method will come in handy.

But growing mint in soil gives you more production because the soil has more nutrition than water, but both are good I like to go with both.

Back where we were, whoa I like that sentence, back where we were, anyway, if you grew them in soil after three days or less, maybe a little more, you will see shoots tiny little coming out growing upwards all across the soil like these:

If it you waited more than 4 days and it didn't grow, just give it some time, have some patience man, patience is all what farming is about.

Once you do this multiple times and really understand how this works, you won't have to buy mint ever again, and even if you wanted to make new mint plants, you can harvest some stems, take the leaves off and use them, then you can do this process over and over again, it's infinite šŸ˜‚

That was everything I had for today.
Thank you so much for reading this blog.
And I really hope you enjoyed reading this blog.

I don't think I've ever thought about planting mint - chuck one in a pot and it'll go bananas. One of the easiest plants to grow, and goodness, plant in a pot if you dont want it to take over!

Mint plants are conquerors, and mints are actually considered weeds, and some people complain about mints taking over their gardens, it's like suffering from success, better than lawns with nothing but grass, AND you can make incredible lemonades with them. Man I wish I had a garden, when I grow up I want to buy a house with a big-ass garden, instead of living in the house and chilling in the garden, I will live in the garden and chill in the house, (I'm so young but I can't say my age)
