Good day hivers! Let's keep Earth green and clean! But the main purpose of this garden is to have food everyday and no need to buy at a local market. I love okra so much, whatever the recipe. I had planted a few of okra last three months ago and slowly I got a harvest everyday and today I had decided to plant another batch of it.

These are my old okra plants. I planted 20 seeds of this but because this area is where flood flows some of it are washed away and around 7 survived.

This space is at the back of the house just 5 meters away from my old okra plants. During the dry season there were no plants here but because it keeps on raining for almost 3 weeks so there's a lot of grass. This is the location I had chosen to plant for my new okra seeds.

These are the seeds left in my cabinet. I bought these seeds 4 months ago. I already planted some of the pechay but it was unsuccessful. Also the eggplant. I was able to have seedlings but it never grew so big because it was washed out by the flood. Today I chose to plant the okra seeds because these are survival seeds.

After breakfast, I started cleaning the area. The sun was so good today. It's shining but it's not hot because the sky is still cloudy. I asked my daughter to capture pictures of me and she got these pictures. Not bad for a four year old girl.

After cleaning the area, I planted it by two. I just finish so fast because the soil is so soft so grasses can be uprooted very easily. Last three months ago I try to plant it by three and I found out only two is suitable to grow in good condition that's why today I tried to put only two seeds per bury.

And this part is at the back of our kitchen. This is the place where I planted the first okra seeds and I will try it again for the second time. I already made a drainage so water from floods could flow there and will not washed out my plants.
Since when I was young, I already loved to plant flowers and vegetables. My father is a farmer that's why plants are so near in my heart. Planting is one of my hobby until now. In my hometown I have lots of flowers and vegetables. I also participated tree planting activities.

I also loved vegetables so much. Here in the island where I live, it's very expensive. It's twice the price from my hometown and this is the main reason why I try to plant around our rented house. Some of the soil is not good that's why I have to put organic fertilizer like my biodegradable waste. Waste from vegetable or fruit peels. I hope to widen my garden very soon so I could have access of free vegetables and I can share to my neighborhood because they always gave me fresh fishes.

That's all for today hivers. Thank you so much for reading my blog. I appreciate your comments. I wanna know what vegetables are also good for backyard gardening if you knew something please leave it in the comment section. Thank you so much!

Hello @krissymayol. Those Okra plants are holding on and still yielding more. I hope they continue to thrive and give you more harvests. Of course, let's root for the newly planted seeds and hope they germinate well.

One tip that I want to share is the method we used to ensure a 90 to 100% germination rate, that is, to use seedling pots first and then transplant them when they're strong enough to survive in the ground. You can use Cacao leaves or banana leaves as seedling pots, so it won't be difficult to remove them when transplanting. The plants' roots are surely protected and intact, and you don't have to move them when transplanting, just remove the leaf pots.

Wow, thanks for sharing😍 I think this is better so It won't be washed away by the flood.
But they are now growing a little

Yes, it's the rainy season so there are a lot of green grasses. And they grow very quickly. So we have them in our yard too. Your okra plant is starting to produce small okra.

Yeah you are right. Rainy season is perfect for planting. And I'm very excited for the okra to have more.
