Hey Everyone!!
Exactly a month ago, I sowed seeds of pumpkin and bottle gourd in 18x18 inch grow bags on my terrace, filled with hope and excitement for a fresh growing season. Watching seeds sprout and develop into healthy green shoots is a joy every gardener cherishes. And initially, both plants responded with promise — three bottle gourd seeds and two pumpkin seeds broke through the soil.
But gardening is not always about perfect outcomes.
As I had shared in an earlier update, my bottle gourd plants were already showing signs of struggle. I tried everything — adjusting the sunlight, watering patterns, even adding extra nutrients — but nature had other plans. Slowly, the bottle gourd plants dried up completely, one by one. Despite the effort, all three failed to survive. Today, with cautious optimism, I sowed fresh bottle gourd seeds again, hoping the new batch finds the strength the previous ones lacked. Sometimes, that's all you can do — start over.
But amidst the loss, the pumpkin plants have stood strong. Of the two that sprouted, both are doing well. Their broad, healthy green leaves are a sign of steady progress. Today marks one full month of their journey, and though it's still early, their resilience is encouraging. I’ve shared a few pictures that show their beautiful transformation — from tiny droplets on baby leaves to lush growth reaching toward the sun.
Gardening teaches patience, and this past month reminded me that while not everything will go as expected, persistence pays off. Whether it's starting over with gourd seeds or nurturing what's already thriving, growth continues — one day, one leaf at a time.
