#LivingElSalvador. Our Coco Trees Are In Need Of Maintnance.

Dark Green & Silver Monstera Plant Gardening Tutorial YouTube Thumbnail_20240725_134357_0000.png

We have always loved gardening and farming. But we like to keep our gardens and chickens (don't have any at this moment) as natural and organic as much as we can.

But unfortunately, today we had to fertilize and spray our coconut trees, since we have a plague, not only on our coconut trees, but even our mango and avocado trees.

Our trees have not been maintained very well over all these years, we were not there. We planted most of our trees in 2012, so they have been doing pretty good, but they are getting into not so good shape, because of lack of maintnance, plus our dirt is not the best to say the least, so our trees always had to work harder to grow and produce good fruit.

We never fertilized or sprayed our trees, till 2 months ago, we sprayed out trees with a natural, home-made, garlic, essential oil spray, to get rid of some pests.

Our coco trees are dropping a lot of coconuts, the leaves are not looking too healthy, and now even the mango and avocado trees are not looking too healthy.

When are new to growing tropical fruit trees, so we asked at the agriculture store, what might be the problem and what should we do.

It looks like we have a plague in the ground and on the trees and that is why we need to spray all the trees and all of our grass/ ground to kill the plague.

Good thing the mango and avocado season is over and we got to enjoy these delicious fruits, so it's actually a good time to spray the trees, because we will not get the fruit till next year and hopefully all of our trees will be healthy.

We also have learned that we need to put salt around our coconut trees and spray some salt on top of the trees also.

We got Luis, who is a pro at growing, fertilizing and spraying trees, to spray our trees, and hopefully this will help.

I’m glad you’d get to enjoy mango and avocado
Do you sometimes use chemical fertilizers or just the banana fertilizer you showed us?

We have not used the chemical fertilizers before or sprays, but this time we had to use the chemical spray to kill the plague because it's in the ground and on the trees. Otherwise our trees will get destroyed by the plague.
On my plants, I only use the banana fertilizer because I don't like or want to use any chemicals on my fruits and veggies.

Oh, what a pity what is happening, let's hope that the plague disappears and your trees are 100% healthy again, they are too beautiful for the plague to beat them, let's hope they improve 🙏

Yes. It's a great help, especially when someone knows what they are doing, and we can learn from them also.
