Planting on my balcony 🌱 [ENG-ESP]

Hello, friends who read my blog! Sometimes I save the seeds from some of the fruits or vegetables I buy to eat to see if they will grow when I plant them. I don't have a garden, just some pots on my balcony, and since I like plants, I try growing them there.

¡Hola amigos que leen mi blog! A veces suelo guardar las semillas de algunos frutos o vegetales que compro para consumir para ver si al sembrarlos se me dan. No tengo jardín, sólo algunas macetas en mi balcón, y como me gustan las plantas, intento cultivarlas allí.

I had cherry tomato seeds, chili pepper seeds, and peanut seeds. The latter must be raw and in their shells; roasted or salted peanuts won't work.

Tenía semillas de tomate cherry, ají picante y maní. Este último debe ser crudo y en su cáscara, no sirve tostado ni salado.

After removing the seeds from the tomatoes and chili peppers, I put them in different jars with water. The ones that sank to the bottom are suitable for germination. I took them out of the jar, left them to dry in the sun for a day, and the next day I planted them in the pot.

Después de sacarles las semillas a los tomates y los ajíes, las puse en diferentes frascos con agua. Las que quedaron en el fondo son las adecuadas para ponerlas a germinar. Las saqué del frasco, las puse a secar un día en el sol y al otro día en la maceta.

In the pot, separated from each other, I placed them half a centimeter deep and covered them with soil. I watered them thoroughly with a spray bottle and left them outside to get a little sun, until they began to sprout after a few days.

En la maceta, separadas unas de otras, las coloqué a medio centímetro de profundidad y las tapé con la tierra. Las regué bastante con un atomizador y las dejé afuera a que les diera un poco el sol, hasta que con los días comenzaron a salir.

The chili pepper took less than a week to sprout. I planted about seven seeds and got four plants. The cherry tomato took about ten days, but I only got one plant.

El ají picante tardó menos de una semana en brotar. Sembré como 7 semillas y me salieron 4 plantas. El tomate cherry tardó unos 10 días, pero sólo me salió una mata.

Now, peanuts are done this way: remove them from their shells and choose the nicest ones. Cut a small square of aluminum foil, place it on top of some kitchen paper, wet it, place the seed on it, and close it like an envelope. Store it in the kitchen and make sure it stays moist. If not, moisten it a little, and in two or three days it will germinate.

Ahora, el maní se hace de esta manera: se saca de la concha y se escoge el maní más bonito. Cortar un cuadro pequeño de aluminio, encima papel de cocina, mojarlo, colocar la semilla y cerrar como si fuera un sobre. Guardarlo en un lugar de la cocina y vigilar que siga húmedo, si no humedecerlo un poco, y a los dos o tres días germina.

Put it in the pot and water it thoroughly with a spray bottle. In a few days, you will see a beautiful little plant sprout. In the photos, I show how it has been growing, as well as the chili pepper and cherry tomato.

Se mete en la maceta y se riega bastante con un atomizador. En pocos días verán que sale una plantita bien bonita. En las fotos muestro cómo ha ido creciendo, lo mismo que el ají picante y el tomate cherry.

The chili pepper plant already has 26 peppers, and more are still coming. The tomato plant has two, one already ripening and another still growing, and the peanut plant has not yet borne fruit. I get very excited seeing them, because when you plant them with your own hands, it's different.

La planta de ají ya tiene 26, y siguen saliendo. El tomate tiene dos, una ya madurando y otra aún creciendo, y el maní todavía no ha dado frutos. Me da mucha emoción verlos, porque cuando los siembras con tus manos es diferente.

You have to keep an eye on them and water them every day. As for the peanuts, their fruits grow underground, so I hope to see them appear soon. The plant has very pretty little yellow flowers. This legume is a superfood for the heart, with many benefits.

Hay que estar pendiente y regarlas todos los días. En cuanto al maní sus frutos crecen bajo tierra, espero verlo aparecer pronto. La planta tiene unas flores chiquitas muy bonitas y amarillas. Esta legumbre es un súper alimento para el corazón, con muchos beneficios.
