My Village: Organic Lychees, Mangoes & Jackfruit from Our Family Orchard

Namaste 🙏 My Dear Friends, This summer vacation i again visited my native village where my parents live. I had a wonderful time there with my family. Unfortunately, I had to return after 10 days because of important office work but my kids are still enjoying their holidays in the village.

They will come back at the end of the month before their school reopens.

In the pictures shared at the end of this post, you can see the lychee tree growing near the pond at my village home. I have also shared photos of the jackfruit tree and some freshly harvested mangoes. The mangoes shown in the pictures are of the famous Indian variety Langra Malda, known for their sweet taste rich aroma and juicy pulp. They are among my favorite summer fruits and are enjoyed by everyone in the family.

currently we are using raw jackfruit as a vegetable dish, which tastes delicious. Next month the jackfruits will fully ripen and become sweet. Ripe jackfruit is one of my favorite summer fruits and i always enjoy eating it.

One funny moment happened when I was picking lychees from the tree. My little kid kept carrying the fruits from the tree to the house and did not want anyone else to take them. He was very protective of his precious lychees and it was lovely to watch.

As always, I did not carry any electronic gadgets except my mobile phone. Nowadays, a mobile phone is enough for most things. We use it for train tickets, UPI payments and many other daily needs. So there is hardly need to carry cash credit cards or debit cards. As in village only have cash or UPI (Unified Payments Interface) options to purchase any goods.

We also enjoyed fishing in our pond using fishing rods. Unfortunately we forgot to take pictures of that activity. One day, we even invited a fisherman to catch some bigger fish from the pond. It was an enjoyable experience for everyone. Later i will share another blog about the delicious fish curry that we prepared.

Village life always brings peace, happiness and beautiful memories. Spending time with family enjoying fresh fruits and connecting with nature makes every visit special.
