Putting into practice a piece of advice I was given to help the best development of a passion fruit plant

On Wednesday, the curation account @gardenhive asked the following question:

Tell us what's happening in your garden RIGHT NOW.

My plants are doing well, and I'm continuing to add to them both here at home and at my grandmother's, especially sweet pepper plants, tomatoes, and several lemon plants that I have in pots to plant later. Of course, I have to wait for them to grow even more, but it's definitely a challenge since it's my first time trying to grow them. It's a great variety, so I'm doing my best to make sure they develop as well as possible.

But getting back to the original topic of my post, the only thing that worries me is a passion fruit plant that I planted some time ago. I asked if you could give me a recommendation to help it grow, and that's how my friend @riverflows recommended putting a good amount of compost around the main root of the plant. My goal is for it to grow and give us a big harvest.

So, without hesitation, I went to check the main root, and well, unsurprisingly, it was almost entirely exposed. There were also a lot of stones, so with the help of a machete, I carefully placed the surrounding soil around the root, being careful not to damage it. I'll also try to buy some good compost if possible to give it the necessary strength.

Finally, one of the neighbors who lives near my grandmother's house has a passion fruit plant at his house, and look at it! I don't get too close because they're a bit difficult to spot, and they might get annoyed if they see me taking pictures. But that's how I'd like to have my own plant, since it's one of my favorite fruits. You can also make delicious juices and desserts with it. As I always say, the best part is that it's all thanks to the fruits of our daily work; it's undoubtedly a personal success for me.

Do you have chickens? We plant our passionfruits on the outside of the chicken coop (with some chicken wire around the base so they can't eat it while it's still young and they're free roaming) and they always do well.

Hope the surgery you did helps :)

It's good you covered up the roots with compost. Maybe some mulch as well and try the homemade fertilser tea!
