I finally planted the tomato plants πŸ… now to give them lots of care and get an amazing harvest

In previous posts, I mentioned that a cousin had two tomato plants πŸ… that she'd been given. Since I had some free time, I helped her plant them next to her house in a space she has there. That was the chosen spot, and since the sun is extremely strong, I did it in the late afternoon, almost at nightfall, hence the difference in the photos.

The first thing I did, once I found the spot, was to get the chicory bush and machete to make some holes, not only wide but also fairly deep, so that most of the stem would be in the ground. This would prevent them from breaking under their own weight, as the plants are quite fragile.

Once the holes were made, all that was left was to place each plant in its designated spot. I removed them from their pots and placed them in the holes, covering them with the soil I had previously removed. Then, using the machete, I leveled the holes to prevent water from running off when I watered them a few minutes later.

Once that was done, I watered the plants with a little water, but since the hose was a bit far away, I had to use a bucket, adding one to each hole. After taking individual photos of each plant, as well as photos from the side where they could be seen well, and tidying up the area around them to make it look nicer, I now have to wait a little longer for the tomato plants to take root and see if it's necessary to plant them a bit deeper using a technique I learned to get a better harvest.

It's definitely a pleasure for me to share more posts here in the #hivegarden community, where I share my passion for agriculture and the nature that surrounds us.
