Harvesting guavas at my grandmother's house

The truth is, being able to harvest food at home is undoubtedly one of the best feelings you can experience in life. Although, to be honest, I didn't plant this guava tree; my aunt did a few years ago, and now we're seeing its fruit more often. So, when I arrived this morning, my aunt asked me if I could do her a favor and pick a couple of them. To be honest, they weren't very visible, and well, they were quite high up.

When I saw them, I realized I couldn't reach them that easily. Since I'm too small to climb, the only option was to find a piece of wood that would make it easier to pick the guavas. After that, it was simple: just give it a gentle tap to try and catch them and prevent them from falling, but luckily, they didn't.

They were small, and as you can see in the photos, they weren't hurt when they fell (I didn't catch any), so I'm very happy to share this morning's harvest. I know it's not much, but it's a start. Perhaps I can share more later, and of course, more frequently.

I'm passionate about nature and always want to be able to grow our own food at home. This also allows me to share a wide variety of content here in the #hivegarden community, featuring different plants that will help us both with our health and our household budget.

Are you taller than your aunty? Is that why she asked you to pick them for her? XD

Do you have a little basket or some spare wire coat hangers and a stick and some gaffa/duct/electrical tape you could make a fruit picker out of?
