A Surprise Discovery: The Soursop Tree

Today I went to visit my parents.
While there we went to one of my mums friend place. She has always been asking about me, so I decided to go along. When we got to her house, something caught my eye a big soursop tree in which i have been wanting to see for a lot of years ago i saw it standing tall in her backyard.
The leaves were fresh and shiny and under them hung the large fruits.

I had seen soursop before in the market, but this was the first time I was seeing the tree up close. It looked so full of life.
My mom’s friend noticed how interested I was, so she told me more about it. She explained that soursop, also called graviola is not only delicious but also very healthy.
The inside of the fruit is white and soft with some black seeds, and that it has a taste that mixes sweetness and tanginess like pineapple and strawberry blended together.

She went on to say that soursop is full of vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants. That’s why many people use it in different ways.
It is eaten fresh, blended into juice or used for making ice cream and desserts. In some places, the leaves and fruit are also used in traditional remedies to help with sleep, boost energy, treat cancer at a early age and support the body’s immune system.

I was also curious about how long it takes to grow and she told me that from the time you plant the seed it takes about three to five years before the tree starts producing fruit. It loves warm weather, plenty of rain, and good care.
In our area, soursop trees usually bear fruit once or twice a year mosttimes during the rainy season. Some well-cared trees can bear fruit almost all year round. Each fruit can be very big, sometimes weighing up to 10kg.

Seeing the soursop tree reminded me that nature has treasures we sometimes overlook.
From food to health benefits, one tree giving so much. If you ever get the chance to eat soursop, drink its juice, or even plant one yourself, don’t miss it it’s truly a gift worth experiencing

That’s called a soursop tree. Here we call it guyabano. The fruit is sweet and delicious, and we also boil the leaves to drink because it’s good for health. Yes if you plant it, it really takes a long time to bear fruit.

Yes you're right the leave if you want it use it and let's say you're so busy that particular day to cook it just spread it on a tray and put it in the house it will still stay 3 days without the leave being unfresh.

Thanks I know what to do now. I’ll follow what you said 3 days so I won’t keep picking from the tree, I’ll just stock up. Good idea thanks again...
