I’ve been on holiday, so I haven’t done much gardening for a couple of weeks.

Over the weekend, I carried on putting down some membrane to stop the weeds growing through. I then popped down to the retail park to buy more plum slates to cover the membrane. Unfortunately, I didn’t have quite enough to finish one side of the flats where I live.

I didn’t want to carry on spending money doing all of the outskirts of the flats, as my neighbours just aren’t interested. They won’t want to pay for any more slates. The job looked unfinished, so I asked ChatGPT what I could do to make it look better. This was what it came up with, and I’m going to do it, as it looks better than it does at the moment. I might not bother with any plants though, as it will be me who has to tend to them, and I'm trying to make my life easier. I will go up to the derelict factory tomorrow that used to sell stone. There are still some stones there that have been left behind, so they will be good enough for the border.

In the meantime, the red flowers on the Japenese Quince and the Forest Flame have come out more, and they look really vibrant. The communal garden isn't very interesting, so any colour is a bonus. Unfortunately, the Lucky Clover, and Triteleia that I sowed have done bugger all!

At least we have some white bluebells and a few remaining daffodils.

I swept up the moss that the blackbirds have thrown off the roof. This is an ongoing battle. The only problem is, that while I was away, the garden recycling bin we have to put our garden waste in, has disappeared. I’m hoping nobody has taken it. I think what has happened is that sometimes, when they mechanically empty the bin, it gets thrown into the back of the dustbin cart instead of just being emptied. Anyway, I’ve ordered another one, so until it arrives, I’m a bit limited in what I can do. Until next time ...

Don't get me started on blackbirds. Thankfully there's none in the new place They're such buggers! A shame the neighbours aren't into it - they don't know what they're missing. I never understand anyone who doesn't enjoy a tidy and beautiful garden
Most of the communal garden is a concrete jungle so it wouldn't hurt them to do a bit of weeding. I'm wondering if they've hid the bin to stop me from doing any more gardening. 🤣
You're unstoppable!
