A little update on my shallot.
It looks so nice on this photo below with the early morning sunshine hits the shallot so nicely. At least it gives me hope.

Here are the update on my shallow plantation, although I must say that I could push it more so that the growth will be better, but it is what it is, and I can only learn from the plant this season.

it has been raining continously here in my place, which is good and bad at the same time. the good thing is that I don't need to water the shallot. But the bad thing is that they are prone to issue, like fungal infection whcih can really ruin the crop.

Now look at the difference of the photo that i have above, and below after the rain.

Although so far I can ssay that the plant is doing good, but I still need to monitor the crop very closely, and spray them with pesticide reguularly to avoid any infection which can cause crop failure in the future.
It is half way through the season, and in a month hopefully I can have better harvest that the first batch of shallot.

Shallots are awesome, a great crop to be growing. They look healthy and should be good producers. Good luck and keep them healthy!

so far, I think this one seems to be the most profitable, and also very fast growing crop, with only aroud 60 days. But so far it has not been a great one for me the learnign process seems to be a lot more complicated than what I expected.

Shallots looks good and healthy
Yes too much water can affect negatively the plant
As I see most of the shallot is under cover and there is one row at least without - but there is no weed on that one
Open one should do better when there is too much rain I assume - did you leave it like that or did you take out plastic cover later?
I leave it that way, the palstic is indeed needed to control the weed, and also to keep the moisture in the soil.
also when its rain a lot, it can prevent the dirt from splashing into the leaf, which then can affect the shallot.
