My Brother's Farm: Growing Six Different Varieties of Dragon Fruit

Hello, everyone! I hope you are all doing well. Thank you for visiting my blog today. I want to share one of my favorite places whenever I visit my family my brother's dragon fruit farm. Every time I come here, I learn something new about farming.

This dragon fruit farm belongs to my brother. He is very hands-on and spends most of his time taking care of his plants and fruits. In our family, we always say that he has a green thumb because almost everything he plants grows well. He is a very shy and quiet person, but when it comes to farming, he is truly amazing. He may not talk much, but his farm shows his dedication and passion.

Before becoming a full-time farmer, my brother entered the seminary because he dreamed of becoming a priest. However, God had a different plan for him.

Although he did not become a priest, he continues to serve the Church. Today, he is the president of our entire parish and the same time, he is fully dedicated to farming. He was even invited to be a speaker during a coffee exhibit, where he shared his farming knowledge and experiences. I am very proud of him because he continues to serve both God and the farming community.

Many people think farming is a simple or low-paying job, but for our family, it is something we are proud of. Farming is not easy. It requires time, hard work, and sacrifice. Farmers work under the hot sun and face many challenges, but seeing healthy plants and a successful harvest makes everything worth it.

I believe anyone can become a farmer, no matter what profession they have.

Farming can be a wonderful hobby, an extra source of income, or even a retirement plan. Whether you are a teacher, engineer, accountant, or office worker, you can still grow your own food. Farming teaches patience, responsibility, and gratitude while providing fresh and healthy food for the family.

One thing I love about visiting my brother's farm is seeing the different varieties of dragon fruit. I think he has around six varieties, and each one is unique in color, size, and taste. Years ago, whenever he visited friends or relatives, he always brought dragon fruit stem cuttings to share. At that time, I did not fully appreciate them because I did not realize how valuable they were. Now, I admire his generosity and passion for encouraging others to grow dragon fruit.

Dragon fruit is not only beautiful but also very healthy. As says it in our best friend Google It is rich in vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants. It helps improve digestion, strengthens the immune system, and supports heart health. It is also refreshing and naturally sweet, making it a favorite fruit in our family.

Dragon fruit is usually planted using stem cuttings. It grows best in well-drained soil with plenty of sunlight. Since it is a climbing cactus, it needs a strong concrete or wooden post for support. With proper care, watering, and fertilizing, it usually starts producing fruit after one to two years. Farming always reminds me that patience is rewarded.

Along the roadside in our mountain area, my brother and his family also have a small fruit shop where they sell their fresh harvests, including dragon fruit and other seasonal fruits. Many travelers stop by to buy fresh fruits directly from their farm.

Before going home, I bring some fresh dragon fruits as pasalubong for my husband's family, especially my nieces and nephews because they love dragon fruit. I also planted dragon fruit in my own backyard garden. It has not produced fruit yet, but I know that with patience and proper care, it will one day bear fruit too.

Visiting my brother's farm always reminds me that farming is more than growing crops. It is about passion, faith, patience, and never giving up. His journey inspires me to appreciate farming even more, and I hope my own dragon fruit plants will reward me with a beautiful harvest in the future.
