Coffee Farm Update: Blooms Are Here and the Coffee Fruits Are Starting to Grow

Colorful Modern Photo Collage Photobook (2).png

Here I am again in the mountains, visiting my family and spending time at our coffee farm. It has been quite a while since my last visit, so coming back here feels extra special. Every time I return to the province, I am reminded of how peaceful and beautiful life is in the mountains. The fresh air, the green surroundings, and the simple joy of being with family always make my heart full.

When I visited our coffee farm, I immediately noticed how much everything had grown. Since it had been some time since we last came here, the coffee plants had become taller, and the grasses around them had also grown thick. The trees surrounding the farm are much bigger now too, giving more shade and making the place look even more natural and refreshing. Even though there is a lot of work to do, I still find it comforting to walk around the farm and see how alive everything is.

Here in our province, Sultan Kudarat is well known for coffee production. Coffee farming is one of the livelihoods that many families depend on, especially in upland areas where the climate and soil are suitable for growing coffee. Sultan Kudarat has become one of the coffee-producing provinces in the Philippines because of its fertile land, cool mountain air, and hardworking farmers who continue to care for their farms year after year. Coffee is not just a crop here, it is part of the life and culture of many families. It provides income, creates opportunities, and helps sustain everyday needs. Many farmers in our area continue planting coffee because they know its value, and over the years, it has become a symbol of hard work, patience, and hope for a better future.

That is also why our family continues to focus on coffee farming. Whenever there is an empty space on the farm, we make sure to plant more coffee. One good thing is that coffee seedlings are easy to get in our area. Under the mature coffee trees, many young seedlings naturally grow from fallen seeds. Because of that, anyone who wants to plant coffee can simply gather seedlings for free and transfer them to another area. It is practical, sustainable, and a blessing for farmers like us.

What made me even happier during this visit was seeing the coffee plants blooming again. Some of them are now full of white flowers, while others already have small fruits starting to grow. Seeing them in this stage gives me so much joy and hope because it means the farm continues to thrive. It reminds me that even if progress takes time, growth is always happening quietly. But now, I’m thinking if I will hire pakyawan in weeding under the coffee tree or per day, Hope I can find good reason and payment for the labor.

As a passionate coffee lover, I envy you :)
I dreamed of having a coffee plantation just for myself, and it would probably be there for friends, relatives and for sale.
But my area is not suitable for coffee, so I can only enjoy your pictures.
