Collecting my basil seeds 🌱

A few days ago I told you about a grasshopper 🦗 that enjoyed my basil plant and today I want to share with you how I get the seeds from my own plant.

As I have already told you this aromatic and medicinal plant, is one of my favorites to sow, especially because I also use it in some meals and to prepare a delicious tea.

My plant is outdoors in my garden, its pot has a good fertilizer and fertile soil, where it is exposed to the sun only in the morning hours.

Since I sowed my plant I have been able to reproduce it through cuttings, for me this way allows me to avoid going through the process of sowing, however to prevent is to avoid, to stay without a basil plant in my small garden.

I have always thought that when we organize a garden or orchard we should look for self-sufficient practices that allow us to take advantage of each stage of our plant of any kind and thus self-supply our garden.

For me it has been rewarding to collect my own basil seeds, because soon I want to plant another plant and also because I can exchange my seeds with other neighbors or friends who are interested in planting basil in their aromatic garden.

Now getting the seeds is very easy, we just have to wait for the plant to bloom and dry, we collect the bunches and then perform an easy process to remove each small seed from the dried flower.

This process is as aromatic as the plant itself, for me it is an aromatherapy at home, which I enjoy to the fullest.

For me this has been a complete cycle that strengthens my planting process, making it more self-sufficient and productive.

I already have my germinators, my pot and my seeds and what I need now is a fertile soil and a crescent moon to sow my new basil plants.

As you can see, harvesting basil seeds is an easy and aromatic process, which allows us to self-sustain our garden.

How beautiful, I love basil.
My small planting did not resist the drought and the strong temperatures this year, I have to recover them.

If this plant is very sensitive there must be a balance of sun and water, the cold also influences, but planting cuttings allows us to save part of the plant and extend its life in some way, I hope you can re-sow friend

Dear beloved Hive creator,

Coding poet Gudasol here to support you sharing your art + life on Hive.

As a fellow creator, I know how hard it is to get the word out there.

I built cXc.world to help creators like us get more support from the blockchain community + beyond.

Bad news: Saying see you later to Hive! 👋

We didn't get the needed support to continue cXc.world on Hive, as our DHF proposal lacked votes, but [Good News Everyone] cXc.world will add a Markdown copy button, allowing you to easily share your music + music you find on Hive.

For now, we're on WAX, with tools you can use to mint your own Music/Media NFT collection.
