Hello dear gardener friends, today I wanted to share with you the whole process of transplanting one of my plants, because I realized that it looked very sad in the old pot where it was before, I do not know what happened but it just did not grow. On the contrary, its leaves dried very easily and fell off, before it was really abundant and had a very healthy shine, then, talking with one of my friends, she told me that maybe what it needed was a change of pot, a bigger one, and that it would also need new soil, but in the transplanting process, anyway it would need some of the old soil so that the change would not be so abrupt.

Honestly I didn't have another pot but I was determined to make a change to make my plant beautiful and healthy again, so I took an old pot that I no longer used for cooking, cut ventilation holes in the bottom and painted it to look like a flower pot.

I also painted the base to make it look better, the change would be radical, but the most important thing would be the transplanting process to the new pot.

I let the paint dry and once the new “pot” was ready I had it at hand to start the process, along with some compost that I had previously prepared, this compost I prepared it myself at home, adding to the soil organic food scraps such as fruit and vegetable skins or eggshells, these materials decompose and become compost, which helps to improve the soil and also provides nutrients to promote optimal plant development.

But first I added some sand, which I used to improve the drainage, ventilation and sanitation of the substrate, it is a tip that my friend gave me, she also told me to add some sand to the compost to improve it.

Then I added the compost, I have to admit that it does not have such an unpleasant smell as I thought it would have at this point, since it is decomposed organic elements, at the beginning it did smell bad, but with the passing of time it has stopped being so unpleasant, anyway the most important thing is that the plants like it.

It is also important to add a little of the soil that the old pot has, this is so that the plant does not feel that the change is too abrupt, I suppose it is so that it does not miss its old habitat so much.

Now it is time to remove the plant from its old home, but it must be done very carefully so as not to damage the roots. I used a garden shovel to make it easier, but it was not a simple task, since The soil was very hard.

You have to be careful when placing the plants (since obviously when they leave the old pot they will do so individually, not as a single plant) you have to distribute them throughout the pot

Finally I added the new soil and then pressed a little with my fingers on the soil to avoid air pockets.

And of course I added a little water to hydrate the roots, but only a little since being newly transplanted the roots cannot absorb too much water and the plant could drown.

And this is the result, I love how my plant looks now, it looks like new, like it just arrived from a nursery, don't you think?

This is a shade plant, that is, a plant that should not be exposed to too much sunlight, therefore it is recommended that it always be indoors. As the days go by the plant has become more and more beautiful, look how it looked before and how it looks now

Well, that's all for today, thank you very much for having accompanied me in the process, I wish you many blessings for you, your families and your gardens, see you next time, God willing.

Taking care of plants so that they are beautiful and healthy is an art, it seems easy, but from my experience, it is not, I do not have that talent.
The decoration of the pot was beautiful, it shows the love you put into it.
Greetings.
