"Sometimes, a short stop is all it takes to appreciate nature's beauty! "

Mabuhay!
Greetings to all Hivers in this amazing @outdoorsandmore community! I hope everyone is doing great and enjoying the remaining days of this year 2025. I'm back to share another outdoor activities/adventure here in our hometown, Kabayan Benguet.

It was a beautiful Sunday morning, and the beautiful weather encouraged me to go to church together with my three kids. The sun was shining gently, making the day feel calm and welcoming. After the Mass, one of the church members invited everyone to join their thanksgiving and family celebration at their home near Tabayo Lake. Knowing how peaceful and scenic the area is, I decided to join together with my kids.

The drive to the place only took about ten minutes, yet it already felt like a short escape from our usual routine because the road leading to the lake was mostly uphill and winding, giving the feeling that we were slowly climbing toward the sky. Along the way, I kept taking photos from the car window, capturing the lush green mountains, open fields, and gardens lining the roadside. These gardens reflected the simple and hardworking life of the local farmers.

When we reached the top of the mountains were finally going down to Tabayo Lake, we noticed a few tourists camping near the lakeside. Some were already packing their tents, others were still enjoying their stay, while a few were returning from a hike. Although there werenโt many visitors today, it was clear that the lake is a favorite place for those seeking rest, relaxation and peace after a long and tiring week. During these holidays, more local tourists visit the area to hike Mt. Tabayoc and explore the nearby lakes, making Tabayo a quiet but meaningful destination to anyone who needs to relax and recharge even just for a short while.

Our short stay at the lake was enough to bring a sense of calm and reconnect with nature. The kids were happily played by the lakeside. My son was happily playing with other kids at the lakeside and they kept throwing small stones into the water and running around while they are laughing out loud. Meanwhile I took time to admire the scenery together with my two kids. The lakeโs surface acted like a giant mirror, reflecting the sky and surrounding mountains. Its color changed depending on where you stood, it is deep green when facing the mountains, and bright sky blue when reflecting the sky and clouds above.

This experience reminded me that sometimes we need to take time to reconnect with nature, not just us but the kids as well. A brief pause, fresh mountain air, and the beauty of nature can refresh both the mind and the soul. Tabayo Lake is not just a tourist spot but it is an invitation to slow down take a deep breath and appreciate the simple moments that make life meaningful with your loved ones or yourself.

Though, Tabayo lake is just near us but sometimes due to the weather and the kids welfare we seldom visit this place. The last time we bring our children here they got coughing and colds that's why we only bring them when the weather is good.

That's all our simple outdoor experiences in our own place. I hope you'll like it! Thank you so much and I really appreciate your time and support. Please stay safe and keep smiling! See you on my next outdoor adventure here in our place, there's more to explore and share!
Happy New Year!
