RE: Visiting the Bank of England museum

Its a great museum. I went about 4 years ago to kill an hour or two as the wife was in the bank itself changing some English money after they changed to polymer 20s.

She was in there 4 hours queuing and being interviewed and proving where it had come from!

I actually preferred the old national philately museum which I visited donkeys years ago and now no longer exists in its original form.

I do like my stamps!

London is awesome, so many places to visit, and many for free!

I'm looking forward to going up to the free viewing platform at Bishopsgate.

Hope you had a lovely New Year and Christmas.

I can't believe you let your missus be interrogated by the bank on her own!!! And why did it take 4 hours? I know the service is slow in the UK, but that's really snail sloooooow.

The Horizon 22 one that I went to the other year? It's very nice up there. Worth going!

And do you still collect stamps nowadays, or was that a schoolboy hobby?

It was her money, and rather a lot and I wasn't allowed to go in with her. Its quite a process and the security in the banking hall is insane.

I started as a kid but as an adult I collected from specific periods. I kept some of my collection but mainly the rarer specimins which are kept safely in the UK. The humidity here would destroy them!

I'm not sure now which viewing platform. I keep getting shorts of 'things to do in London' popping up on YT! It appears there are a few to try! I need a few days in London next trip as its been a while.
