WHITE BLOOM UNDER BLUE SKY

During my walk in the botanical garden in Cologne, I came across this beautiful white tree.
It was standing quietly on the side, not in the main path, not in the spotlight.
Easy to miss, but hard to ignore once you really look.

What caught my eye was the way the white flowers stood out so brightly against the deep blue sky. It looked really nice.
So I decided to stop for a moment, take a few photos and then checked the name of this tree.

This is LAGERSTROEMIA INDICA, also known as crape myrtle.

🔍 A few fun facts:
– It originally comes from Asia but grows well in many parts of Europe.
– It’s known for its long blooming season, sometimes even from June to September.
– The flowers can be white, pink, purple or red depending on the variety.
– It also has beautiful bark that peels as the tree matures, which is why it’s also called "the tree with seven barks".

I really like these quiet plants that don’t try to be the center of attention but still add so much beauty around them.
