RE: At the Edge of the River Delta

(edited)

Oh my, I can smell the salt air! (This is at the confluence of the river and the sea, right? If not, okay evidently I just smell the river basin. ๐Ÿ˜„) Don't make me choose between seafood favorites. They are all divine. Okay fine. I'll choose. Shrimp, salmon, calamari, mahi mahi, lobster, in that order!

Those all sound delicious to me. ๐Ÿ˜„

This is a very wonderful place with a small town atmosphere. It is located right where the big Fraser river empties into the ocean. I took this shot on the river side. You can see mount Baker in the hazy distance. In the area where the waters mix, there are nice tidal flatlands with a lot of birds enjoying snacks and salty sea-breezes. You can buy fresh seafood from the boats on the docks, so it's a seafood lovers paradise too. With spot prawn season just around the corner, they're going to be busy.

Sounds absolutely amazing, @litguru. My kind of place! I am a seafood fanatic. Last summer on two separate trips to the west coast, I ended up buying fresh fish off a boat โ€” once in Oregon and once in California. What a great experience. And you can't beat the flavor of fish that fresh!
