Oh my, I can smell the salt air! (This is at the confluence of the river and the sea, right? If not, okay evidently I just smell the river basin. ๐) Don't make me choose between seafood favorites. They are all divine. Okay fine. I'll choose. Shrimp, salmon, calamari, mahi mahi, lobster, in that order!
Those all sound delicious to me. ๐
This is a very wonderful place with a small town atmosphere. It is located right where the big Fraser river empties into the ocean. I took this shot on the river side. You can see mount Baker in the hazy distance. In the area where the waters mix, there are nice tidal flatlands with a lot of birds enjoying snacks and salty sea-breezes. You can buy fresh seafood from the boats on the docks, so it's a seafood lovers paradise too. With spot prawn season just around the corner, they're going to be busy.
Sounds absolutely amazing, @litguru. My kind of place! I am a seafood fanatic. Last summer on two separate trips to the west coast, I ended up buying fresh fish off a boat โ once in Oregon and once in California. What a great experience. And you can't beat the flavor of fish that fresh!
