This Here Ain't Water

Is the holidaze over with yet? Still a few hours until the SAMs can lock on to Santa, nothing to do but wait. After all the nonsense that comes with this time a year, a palette cleanser was in order.

Dug out an old hard drive and put some music on, went through some photos from my time out west in 2017 and 2018. Been slightly obsessed with Big Special since stumbling upon them a few days ago, a nice antidote to all the Carols.

Carol'll never think to look for me on the Oregon coast. Went out west 'knowing' what I was doing, got learned there was plenty of learning still to do. Took altogether too many (~35k) photos, but much of that was in need of more work (color balance, wut?) than was within my wheelhouse at the time.

Now they make a good status check when a break is needed from the routine. Good reminder my ass needs to get back out there and give it another shot, too.

Had planned to stick to photos from my 2017 trip but had to get away from all the Pacific Northwest fog/haze/drizzle and wound up in New Mexico in 2018. Whatever you do, try not to make it rain.

I thought I was getting better, I must think I'm fucking Cinderella. SHITHOUSE!!! Is it time to burn the Christmas tree yet?
