The Heroes We Rarely Remembers After The Headlines Fade. LOH#298

Whenever I see news about earthquake or other disasters, one though always come to my mind. I can't imagine what it feels like to loose everything in Just few minutes. One minute you are living your normal life, the next minute you're searching for your family, your home is gone and you're depending on strangers for help. It's heartbreaking.

That's why I have so much respect for the people who rushed out to save lives during the recent earthquake in Venezuela.

While Most people would naturally think of protecting themselves, these rescuers chose to run towards danger just to save others. That kind of courage deserves more than just an applause.

If I had the opportunity, they're the people I would choose to support .

I would want to provide them with the needed equipment, medical supplies and protective gears they need so that they can do their work safely. I would also make sure they have access to counseling and enough time to rest, because of the emotional weight they carried while doing the rescue.

Imagine spending days searching through the collapsed building, hearing cries for help, comforting frightened children. Those experiences doesn't easily disappear just like that, so these rescuers deserve emotional support and reassurance that the world appreciates what they have done.

One thing i have noticed is that, disaster often brings out the very best in people. You see strangers carrying one another, volunteers working without expecting anything in return and communities working together despite their differences. Moments like this reminds me that compassion still exists.

Long after the cameras are gone, these are the people that stays behind, helping people to rebuild their lives . That is why I believe that they are the heroes we rarely remember after the headline fades.

That also reminds us that even after the ground stopped shaking, humanity still stands strong.
