Kiyumizu-dera - Kyoto Impressions 👹🍣🎎 Wonderful Japan ENG-GER

I’m back in Kyoto and looking at a few photos I took there. As usual, I took quite a few, because there was so much to see. And as you’ve probably already noticed, I find it hard to hold back when it comes to taking photos.

But why should I? It’s fun and doesn’t hurt anyone. On the contrary, it lets me share some of the many impressions I encountered during our little trip.

And that’s why today I’m taking you on a quick tour of Kiyomizu-dera Temple, which I’ve now visited several times. And every time I’m here, I love it and decide to come back someday.

In the photos I’m sharing today, it looks as though I was there all by myself. Let me tell you, that impression is misleading—it was absolutely packed. But there are certain areas where visitors aren’t allowed. And fortunately, people respect those boundaries, so in some places there are a few wonderful photo opportunities.

Ich bin wieder zurück in Kyoto und schaue auf ein paar Fotos, die ich dort gemacht hatte. Wie üblich waren es eine ganze Menge, denn es gab ja auch eine ganze Menge zu sehen. Und wie ihr ja bereits bemerkt haben solltet, fällt es mir schwer mich in Sachen Fotos zurückzuhalten.

Aber warum sollte ich auch, es macht Spaß und tut keinem weh. ganz im Gegenteil, kann ich so doch ein wenig die vielen Eindrücke teilen, die mir während unserer kleinen Reise so begegnet sind.

Und deshalb nehme ich euch heute kurz mit zum Kiyumizudera Tempel, welchen ich nun schon einige Male besucht habe. Und jedes Mal wieder gefällt es mir hier und ich beschließe eines Tages wiederzukommen.

Auf den Fotos, die ich heute zeige, scheint es, als wäre ich dort ganz alleine gewesen. Lasst euch sagen, der Eindruck täuscht, es war super voll, aber es gibt halt auch Orte, wo keiner hin darf, und zum Glück halten sich die Besucher daran, so dass es an einigen Stellen ein paar wundervolle Fotomotive gibt.

That day, we only went to the edge of the temple and didn't go inside—we were saving that for another day. But even from there, we got a wonderful glimpse of this famous temple and took some nice photos.

An jenem Tag waren wir nur am Rande des Tempels und nicht im Inneren, was wir uns für einen anderen Tag aufhoben hatten. Aber bereits hier konnte man einen wundervollen Eindruck von diesem berühmten Tempel bekommen und ein paar tolle Fotos machen.

When I look at these photos, they all seem to radiate such a calm atmosphere, even though I was actually right in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Kyoto is really trendy right now, which is clearly evident everywhere you go in the city. But that’s something I can filter out pretty well in my photos.

Wenn ich mir die Fotos so anschaue, strahlen sie alle so eine Ruhe aus, obwohl ich eigentlich mitten im Gewühl stand. Kyoto ist gerade richtig angesagt, was man an allen Ecken und Enden der Stadt deutlich zu spüren bekommt. Aber was ich aus meinen Bildern recht gut ausblenden kann.

The temple is picturesquely situated on the slopes of Mount Otowa, offering a sweeping view of Kyoto. And from the right perspective, the bustling metropolis can seem quite peaceful and serene, inviting you to take a moment to meditate.

Der Tempel liegt malerisch am Hang des Otowa‑Bergs, von wo aus man einen weiten Blick über Kyoto hat. Und aus der richtigen Perspektive kann die Millionenstadt ganz friedlich und ruhig wirken und einen zu ein wenig Meditation einladen.

Oh yes, over there in the back, right in the middle—that’s where we need to go now. I’m really excited to see what’s in store for us this time and what we’ll get to experience. And as for this temple, we’ll be back in a few days to take a tour of the grounds. And of course I’ll share some pictures with you then...

Ach ja, dort hinten, genau in die Mitte, da müssen wir jetzt hin. Ich bin schon ganz gespannt, was uns diesmal erwartet und was wir alles erleben werden. Und hier zu diesem Tempel, da kommen wir in ein paar Tagen wieder zurück und drehen dann auch eine Runde durch die Anlange. Von wo ich euch dann natürlich auch ein paar Bilder zeigen werde...
